Betting Tips & Predictions – NFL Gameweek 10

In our NFL Betting Tips preview we look ahead to three selected matches in Gameweek 10 and give our predictions and betting tips.

Atlanta Falcons @ Philadelphia Eagles – 6pm Sunday

The Falcons head to Philly on the march having won their last two games, scoring an astonishing 76 points in the process. Their offence has saved the day on numerous occasions this season as the defence continues to leak points, 50 in the last two games to be precise and the defence took another blow as cornerback Desmond Trufant suffered what appears to be a serious shoulder injury Tampa Bay last time out. As a result, Head Coach Dan Quinn will be hoping their offensive firepower will come to the rescue once again, spearheaded by the in form Matt Ryan. The ninth season quarterback is playing the best he ever has in his career, leading the NFL in pass yards with 2,980 and touchdowns with an impressive 23 meaning he’s averaging 330 yards and 3 touchdowns a game. Certainly deserving of the MVP talk he’s been the subject of. A large part of his success is down to his partnership with Julio Jones who has already reached an astonishing 970 receiving yards and five touchdowns. Atlanta’s defence is far from perfect, conceding 29 points per game, but their offence has been so strong that it hasn’t mattered which is why they currently sit with 6-3 record atop the NFC South.

The Eagles are very strong at home with a 3-0 record at Lincoln Financial Field. But they’re coming into this off the back of demoralising back-to-back defeats against divisional rivals the Cowboys and then the Giants, seriously denting their playoff ambitions and they now sit bottom of a very competitive NFC South even though they have a 4-4 record. The Eagles desperately need a win to avoid falling even further off the pace and they will be looking to Darren Sproles to lead them to victory after head coach Doug Pederson confirmed him as the franchise’s number one running back ahead of Ryan Mathews. Sproles is averaging a solid 4.8 yards per carry this season and finding a rhythm in the running game could be key against a Falcons defence that are conceding an average of only 91 rush yards per game, it won’t be easy for Sproles. It’s hard to look past a high scoring game with Atlanta scoring 30 points or more in each of their last three games and the points have gone over in their last six matches with teams from the NFC. This could really be a game for the spectators with both quarterbacks finding their receivers on a regular basis.
