In our Champions League Group D Round-Up we look at the best possible betting tips for these fixtures.

PSV Eindhoven v FC Rostov

On Tuesday evening this week in the Champions League we see Ivan Daniliants take his FC Rostov side on the trip to Philips Stadion in Eindhoven, Netherlands to face Phillip Cocu’s PSV Eindhoven.

These two sides met in the reverse fixture in the second round of matches when PSV Eindhoven made the journey to Russia to face FC Rostov. This turned out be a thrilling encounter which saw four goals split two a piece for each side all of which game in the first half. It was the hosts who took the lead after just eight minutes had been played. Dmitri Poloz’s run wasn’t tracked and he went through on goal and finished smartly. That lead only lasted six minutes though when PSV levelled the game up thanks to Davy Propper who’s deflected strike from outside the area went in. Rostov regained the lead in the 37th minute thanks to Poloz again who got his brace with a sweetly struck volley from the edge of the box. But yet again the visitors drew level, this time on the stroke of half time when Luke De Jong nodded in from close range into an open net. The second half was goalless as both sides had to settle for a point.

The home side PSV Eindhoven head into the visit of FC Rostov knowing that they cannot progress through into the next of the Competition regardless of what happens here on Tuesday. However if they manage to beat Rostov here in Eindhoven then they pip the Russian side to the third place in the table which means that they’ll go through to the Europa League knockout stage. The Dutch side find themselves sat at the foot of the group in fourth place after collecting just one point from their five fixtures. That point came in the reverse fixture therefore they will be confident that they can beat them at their home ground.

The away side FC Rostov go into the trip to PSV Eindhoven also knowing that no matter the result here on Tuesday evening that they will not be progressing through to the round of 16. However they only need to come away with a point in Eindhoven and they will be going into the Europa League knockout stage. They currently find themselves sat in third place in the group having won just one of their matches. But that one win was a special one that saw them beat Carlo Ancelotti’s Bayern Munich 3-2 in a famous night in their history. If they do manage to get something from this match then they will be going into the Europa League full of confidence.

Bayern Munich v Atletico Madrid

On Tuesday evening this week in the Champions League we see Diego Simeone take his Atletico Madrid side on the trip to the Allianz Arena in Germany to face Carlo Ancelotti’s Bayern Munich.

These two sides met in the reverse fixture in the second round of matches when Bayern Munich made the trip to Vicente Calderón Stadium in Spain to face Atletico Madrid in a repeat of last years semi-final. This was an extremely close encounter with both sides having their chances to win but it was the hosts who nicked the only goal of the game. That winner came in the 35th minute and it came curtesy of Yannick Carrasco. The Belgian winger ran towards goal and fired his strike from the edge of the area across the keeper and it went in off the post. Bayern had a golden opportunity just before the break but Frank Ribery dragged his shot agonisingly wide from about 8 yards out.

The home side Bayern Munich head into the visit of knowing that regardless of the result here on Tuesday evening that their position in the group cannot change. They have qualified through to the next stage of the Champions League in second position in the group and will therefore play a team who have topped their group. They’ve collected nine points from their five fixtures after winning three and losing two from those five. Even though it doesn’t matter what the result is, they will want to get some revenge over the Spanish side and will also want to get back to winning ways after they were beaten by FC Rostov in the last round 3-2.

The away side Atletico Madrid go into the trip to Bayern Munich also knowing that no matter what happens, their place in the group cannot be altered. They will be going through to the round of 16 in top spot and are the only team in the whole of the competition to have a 100% record after winning all five of their fixtures. So even though if they don’t manage to when it doesn’t really matter, they will be desperate to maintain that 100% record which will send them into the next stage full of confidence. They will still be gutted from their final defeat to their biggest rivals Real Madrid last year so they will have their eyes on the trophy this time round.
