AC Milan v Atalanta
On Saturday afternoon this weekend in Serie A we see Gian Piero Gasperini take his Atalanta side on the trip to the San Siro Stadium to face Vincenzo Montella’s AC Milan.
The home side AC Milan head into the visit of Atalanta knowing that they can’t afford to dwell on their result in the week, and that it is absolutely vital for them to come away with a win from this one. After their underwhelming seventh place finish last season, this time round they look like a much stronger outfit as they look to at least qualify for a Champions League spot. They currently find themselves sat in a solid third place in the table, three points below Roma in second. They don’t have much margin for error as the three teams below could all either go above them or level on points with a win this weekend. Before their match on Monday they had lost just once in their last thirteen in all competitions, so they will be fully confident that they can get back to winning ways here.
Their most recent match was on Monday evening when they travelled to the Stadio Olimpico to face Luciano Spalletti’s AS Roma in this top of the table clash. It was an extremely close encounter throughout, one in which either side could have easily won. However only one goal split the two teams and it went to the hosts. It was a piece of individual from Radja Naingoolan who picked up the ball 30 yards out, drove towards goal and curled a beautiful left footed strike into the net to earn all three points.
The away side Atalanta go into the trip to AC Milan hoping that their last couple of results won’t effect their confidence and they can get back to winning ways here on Saturday. They’ve lost their last two Serie A fixtures, but before that they were on a superb ten match unbeaten streak and were looking like one of the teams to beat. After finishing in a mediocre 13th place last year, this time round they are building a serious case to challenge for a European qualification spot. They currently find themselves sat in sixth place, and a win here could take them level on points with the two teams above them if they both lose.
Their most recent game was on Sunday when they welcomed Luigi Delneri’s Udinese to Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia. The visitors took the lead right on the strike of half time through Zapata but it only took Atalanta two second half minutes to pull level thanks to Kurtic. However two goals late on from Udinese handed Atalanta their second defeat in two games in Serie A.

Juventus v Roma
On Saturday evening this weekend in Serie A we see Luciano Spalletti take his AS Roma side on the trip to the Juventus Stadium to face Massimiliano Allegri’s Juventus. This is arguably the biggest fixture of the season so far as the top two go head to head in Turin.
The home side Juventus head into the visit of Roma hoping that they can just continue with their fantastic start to the season and come away with yet another win in this real six pointer. After comfortably winning the league last year which saw them nine points above Napoli in second place, they are hoping for more of the same this time round. They’ve made the perfect start in doing just that as they currently find themselves sat at the summit of the table in top spot, four points above their opponents. Their home record is second to none, they haven’t lost their since August 2015 which is 38 games in all competitions.
Their most recent game was on Sunday when they made the short journey to Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino to face Siniša Mihajlović’s Torino in the huge Turin derby in Serie A. It was the hosts who took the lead after just 16 minutes when Belotti headed in from close range, but Higuain levelled it up after half an hour with a calm finish. It looked as if it was heading for a draw but two goals in the final eight minutes from Higuain and Pjanic gave Juve the bragging rights over their rivals.
The away side Roma go into the trip to Juventus knowing that it would be massive for them if they are able to do what nobody has done all season and win at the Juventus Stadium. After finishing in third place last season and missing out on the Champions League, this time round it looks like they have their eyes set on at least second place. A win here would not only end Juve’s run, but it would mean that Roma would only be a single point below their opponents. Roma themselves have lost just once in their last fifteen games in all competitions so will be confident of getting at least a draw here.
Their most recent match was on Monday evening when they welcomed Vincenzo Montella’s AC Milan to the Stadio Olimpico in this huge Serie A fixture. It was an extremely close encounter throughout, one in which either side could have easily won. However only one goal split the two teams and it went to the hosts.
