In our Spanish football betting preview we look at the best possible betting tips.

Real Madrid v Celta Vigo

On Saturday evening this weekend in La Liga we see Eduardo Berizzo take his Celta de Vigo side on the trip to Santiago Bernabeu to face Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid.

The home team Real Madrid head into the visit of Celta Vigo still being frustrated by the injuries to two key players, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema. Ronaldo is close to his return with it being reported that he will be back for the Osasuna game, and it is still unclear how long it will be until the Frenchman is back. They got their season underway last weekend with a trip to Anoeta Stadium to face Eusebio Sacristan’s Real Sociedad. It was the best possible start for Madrid who took the lead after just 72 seconds when Gareth Bale headed home and then 5 minutes before the break their lead was doubled when Marco Asensio scored with a delightful chip on his first league start for the club. Bale got his second of the match in the dying moments when he took it round Sociedad keeper Geronimo Rulli to round off Madrid’s perfect start to the season.

The away side Celta Vigo who impressed everyone last season with not only their 6th place finish which meant qualification into the Europa League, but their impressive and attractive style of football that Eduardo Berizzo has got them playing. However on the opening day of the season last week, they welcomed the La Liga new boys Leganes to Balaidos who caused the upset of the week. Everyone was expecting Celta Vigo to come away with a comfortable 3 points but an away goal with just 15 minutes remaining earned Leganes a dream start to life back in the top division. Gaffer Berizzo will want to put that result to the back of his mind and move onto the trip to the Bernabeu where they will try and capitalise on Madrid’s injury issues.

Athletic Bilbao v Barcelona

On Sunday evening this weekend in La Liga we see Luis Enrique take his Barcelona side on the trip to San Memes Stadium to face Ernesto Valverde’s Athletic Bilbao.

The home team Athletic Bilbao go into the visit of Barcelona hoping to have another positive season like the last time round which saw them finish in 5th place and therefore qualify for the Europa League. Gaffer Ernesto Valverde will want his side to go one better though as they missed out on 4th place by just 2 points which meant they would’ve qualified for the Champions League play-off round. They got their season underway last weekend in extremely disappointing fashion when they made the trip to El Molinon to face Abelardo Fernandez’s Sporting Gijon who avoided relegation last season by 1 point. Bilbao had all the possession but failed to make it count as Sporting Gijon went 2-0 up in the space of 3 second half minutes. Bilbao got one back in the 86th minute through Viguera but it was too little too late.

The away side Barcelona head into the trip to Athletic Bilbao hoping that they continue their solid record in this fixture which has only seen them lose once out of ten games. The defending Champions will want to emulate last season’s success but will much prefer to do it in more convincing fashion as they won it by just 1 point over Real Madrid in 2nd. They began their title defence last week by welcoming Gus Poyet’s Real Betis to the Nou Camp. It took the Catalan side just 6 minutes to take the lead through Arda Turan but Betis did actually level it up 15 minutes later. Their lead was regained and then doubled just before the break thanks to goals from Messi and Suarez who would go on to score 2 and 3 respectively in a convincing 6-2 win.
