Notts County v Forest Green Rovers Betting Tips and Odds

In our Notts County v Forest Green Rovers betting preview we look at the best possible bets between the two sides.

Overview

It’s top versus bottom in this League Two clash, as a deflated Forest Green Rovers outfit travel to the East Midland’s to take on an in form Notts County who currently occupy top spot. The hosts are massive favourites for this clash, they’ve got 20 more points to their names already this time out and will be expected to widen that to 23 with a win here against the Football League new boys.

Nolan’s men early pace setters

Although we’re only in October, the league table is already taking shape and after 11 games, the hosts for this fixture are sitting pretty at the top of the pile, early favourites for promotion to League One next May. Kevin Nolan’s men have only lost 2 games so far and go into this clash having won 5 out of their last 6 games. They are only ahead of second place Exeter on goal difference though, so need to win here to maintain their stance at the top of the pile, and know that any slip up could cost them dearly with so many teams below them all gunning for their position. The hosts do however go into this game on the back of only their second defeat of the campaign though, they were beaten 3-1 by play-off chasers Mansfield last weekend, so will be looking to get back to winning ways in this clash.

Notts County currently sit top of League Two on 25 points.

Forest Green are in the Red

The visitors travel to Meadow Lane extremely low on confidence, they have only managed 1 win in their opening 11 games and are already 5 points away from 21st place Morecambe as we head into Autumn. They could however climb above relegation threatened rivals Chesterfield and Port Vale with a win here, providing results elsewhere work in their favour, but know it’s going to be a really big ask to get anything out of this match against the league leaders away from home. Mark Cooper’s men were promoted to the Football League for the first time in the club’s history this season and are an incredibly small club in comparison to others in the division, especially their opponents for this encounter; with players like Jon Stead, Shola Ameobi and Alan Smith all at their disposal, county have a squad filled with Premier League experience, giving them a massive upper hand in this fiercely competitive division so it’s going to be a very difficult afternoon for the Gloucestershire outfit should Kevin Nolan’s side play to their full potential.

Forest Green have only managed one win since their promotion from the Conference last season.

Odds

The visitors have got to come away with the win in this clash, they’re by far the more superior team and won’t let the league’s bottom side turn them over in their own backyard. They’re best priced at 4/9 with PaddyPower, the draw is best priced with BetStars at 3/1 while an upset to be caused by the visitors is best priced at 13/2 with Betfair.
