Germany v France Betting Tips & Odds

In our Germany v France betting preview we look at the best possible bets between the two sides.

Overview

Germany host France in this clash of the European titans here in a highly anticipated friendly match ahead of next summers World Cup in Russia. Euro 2016 finalists France travel to Koln hoping to overcome Joachim Low’s 2014 World Cup winners, and will feel confident they can do so after acing their qualifying group and beating Wales in their last outing on Friday night. The hosts were held in a goalless stalemate by a makeshift England team at Wembley on Friday night, so will be looking to get back to winning ways here against one of the favourites to win the whole competition next summer.

Joachim Low’s men face a tough test here against a very attack minded France outfit.

Both sides are unbeaten in six

Germany & France both go into this clash unbeaten in their last six outings, they both finished top of their World Cup qualifying groups with ease, and now look really strong contenders to lift the trophy next summer. The hosts did have a slightly weaker group than France, but take nothing away from how well they performed in their 10 qualifying matches. 30 points obtained from a possible 30 has showed the rest of the world what a dominant force the four time World Cup winners are, and means they head into next years competition as favourites, ahead of Spain and Brazil at 5/1 with most bookmakers.

Germany have scored an astounding 26 goals on home soil in their last seven matches. They’ve got so many attacking options to choose from at the moment, with the likes of exciting 21 year old RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner and Manchester City winger Leroy Sane both establishing themselves in the senior side within the last year after impressing at club level. Sane and Werner both started against The Three Lions in Friday night’s friendly, and it was Sane who was unlucky not to find the net after his fantastic shot from the edge of the area rattled the England crossbar. Alongside these players, they’ve got experience in the middle of the park, with Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil creating chances from deep, sitting in front of Real Madrid protector Tony Kroos who insures that ever trustworthy back four, making the hosts an incredibly tough side to break down.

Germany have scored 26 goals in their last 7 home games.

France have lost just once in last six on the road

France’s form has been as good as anyone’s since their Euro 2016 heartbreak. Didier Deschamps men finished top of their qualifying group, ahead of second place Sweden by a comfortable 4 points and now look set to be a force at next years World Cup. Les Blues have an abundance of quality pulsating through their whole squad, with the likes of Kyliann Mbappe, Alexandre Lacazette, Olivier Giroud, Anthony Martial and Antoine Greizmann all to chose from ahead of this clash at the Rhein Energie Stadion. Those names are enough to strike fear into even the toughest of oppositions, so Germany are going to have to defend exceptionally well to ensure they don’t get a sniff in front of goal here.

Last time out, France beat Wales 2-0 at home. A goal in each half from Atletico Madrid hotshot Antoine Greizmann and Arsenal target man Olivier Giroud was enough to secure victory in that clash at the Stade de France on Friday night, and means that the visitors travel to Germany full of confidence. Joachim Low’s men will prove to be a tougher task for them here however, so they’ll have to adapt to the occasion and utilise their attacking options fully if they’re to clinch an away victory in this exciting clash.

France have so many attacking options to chose from, it’s frightening.
