It will come as no surprise that the overwhelming favourites for the Bundesliga title is holders Bayern Munich. The Bavarians are around 1/8 to retain their crown and will be under new management after Pep Guardiola left for Manchester City. Former Chelsea and Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has taken the reins at the Allianz Arena and they have immediately flexed their financial muscle, spending upwards of £70million to bring in Renato Sanches from Benfica and Mats Hummels from rivals Borussia Dortmund. That transfer in particular could have big repercutions in the Bundesliga as it significantly weakens Dortmund who are arguably Bayern’s only title challengers. Dortmund are still head and shoulders above the rest in the division and should be in the top two. The Munich/Dortmund handicap doubles is always a popular selection with both teams brushing opponents aside week after week.
Wolfsburg and Leverkusen are amongst the teams just behind the leaders who will be looking to push for the automatic Champions League places. At the bottom end of the table Ingolstadt and Darmstadt are expected to struggle, with Eintracht Frankfurt also tipped to be down there after only just surviving last term. Freiburg will be looking to ensure they do not make an immediate return to the second tier also, but it could be a tough season for the league newcomers.
In a fast paced and technical league the interest in German football has improved greatly in the last 10 years. Check back all season for the best Bundesliga betting tips, news match previews and of course the all important football betting tips from Team FA’s tipsters.
