Premier League TOTW 1

Team Of The Week One

Well that's the first gameweek of the 19/20 Premier League season done and dusted and as always we've broken down every individual performance and managed to pick our Fantasy Hub team of the week.

There were plenty of players who had good games however they didn't quite pick up enough fantasy points to make the final cut.

Be sure to let us know if you had any of the following players in your teams.

Don't worry if you didn't create your team in time for the first gameweek, there is still plenty of time to get involved and we are giving out weekly AND monthly prizes which you can read about HERE!

Fantasy Hub is FREE to play and available on Android and iPhone here!

David De Gea (£6.8m) - 10 points

It was quite easy to pick our goalkeeper in our team of the week, Manchester United's David de Gea racked up the most points in Fantasy Hub and again showed why he is one of the best keepers at this level.

Producing 7 saves against a youthful Chelsea side which included the likes of Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount, de Gea ended the weekend on a comfortable 10 points.

Chelsea came close to ruining Manchester United's clean sheet hopes however they were denied by the woodwork on two occasions and Ross Barkley's tame effort going straight into the hands of the Spain international.

After his solid performance against Chelsea, David de Gea is the first player in our Team Of The Week.

Erik Pieters (£5.8m) - 13 Points

The first defender to make it into our gameweek one is Burnley's Erik Pieters.

Only 0.59% opted with the Burnley fullback and they were greatly rewarded after the dutchman knocked up two assists and helped the Clarets keep their first clean sheet of the season.

Lewis Dunk (£5.8m) - 10 Points

Brighton made a great start to the 19/20 season with a convincing 3-0 win away to Watford.

Star defender and club Captain, Lewis Dunk's individual performance was a joy to behold at times and the centre back even chipped in with an assist to take his tally to 10 points for the season.

Kyle Walker (£6.8m) - 10 Points

Manchester City have an abundance of top quality defenders, however it was fullback, Kyle Walker who makes it into our team of the week.

The England international had a great game and a quick burst of pace down the wing before delivering a low ball into the box saw himself pick up the assist for Gabriel Jesus' early goal.

His assist was accompanied by a comfortable clean sheet, taking his points total up to a tidy 10 points.

Chris Mepham (£5.5m) - 8 Points

The final defender to make the cut is Bournemouth's Chris Mepham however Liverpool's giant at the back, Virgil van Dijk could have easily made the cut.

Both defenders ended up on 8 points due to their goals this weekend, however as always in these scenario's we opt for the best performing, value for money selection.

At £5.5m Chris Mepham is nothing short of a bargain who clearly knows where the back of the net is.

41 points were on offer if you had selected the four defenders in our Team Of The Week.

Raheem Sterling (£8.3m) - 20 Points

We couldn't pick our team of the week and not include our player of the week, Raheem Sterling.

What can we say about Sterling's performance this weekend, he caused the West Ham defence problems from the first whistle and was greatly rewarded for his efforts.

Scoring the first hattrick of the new season, the England international has a brilliant opening weekend and it's safe to say plenty of Fantasy Hub users were thrilled by his points haul.

Mohamed Salah (£8.4m) - 11 Points

Kicking the season off, Liverpool were tested at times by the Premier League new boys but eventually ran riot as they picked up all three points.

Mohamed Salah showed again why he is more than just a two season wonder by grabbing himself a goal and an assist against Norwich.

A firm favourite amongst Fantasy Hub users and majority will be happy with his 11 points after gameweek one.

Riyad Mahrez (£7.2m) - 11 Points

Overlooked a lot last season, Riyad Mahrez certainly put in a big effort as he looks to cement his place in the City side for the new season.

Picked by just 2.73% of users, the Algerian certainly showed people what they're missing as he racked up an impressive 3 assists in Man City's 5-0 thumping of West Ham.

With Sane out injured for the foreseeable future it may be worth giving Mahrez a go and for just £7.2m.

A hattrick of assists & a hattrick of goals for the two Manchester City midfielders see them both in our TOTW.

Marcus Rashford (£8.0m) - 12 Points

Marcus Rashford is the first forward to make it into our Premier League team of the week thanks to his impressive performance against Chelsea.

The Englishman has made a fantastic start to the new campaign with two goals in the opening weekend. The first via a penalty and the second coming in the form of a cool finish past Kepa.

Harry Kane (£8.3m) - 12 Points

Something tells me this wont be the last time we're featuring Harry Kane in our team of the weeks.

Doing what he does best, Kane grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck and fired Spurs ahead before giving them a two goal cushion late on.

The England international wont want to share the golden boot award again this season and his two goals on the opening weekend is a great way to start the season.

Ashley Barnes (£6.7m) - 12 Points

Not many people would have thought Barnes would make it into our first team of the week of the season but here we are.

The Burnley forward enjoyed an almost perfect gameweek one by helping Burnley achieve all 3 points and grabbing himself two goals in the process.

At only £6.7m, Barnes is a cheap alternative to the so called 'big guns'.
