Set-Piece Specialists You Need To Consider

The Importance of Set-Piece takers

When it comes to Fantasy Hub the aim is to score as many points as possible and sit comfortably at the top of your leagues.

A good way of scoring easy points is via set-piece takers, players who are on corner, free-kick or penalty duties pick up bags of points.

The best thing about having a good set-piece taker is that more or less every club has one.

Which means you can often avoid the so called 'big name' players and find cheaper alternatives who will get you just as many, if not more points.

Crystal Palace's Luka Milivojević being the perfect example.

Trent Alexander-Arnold - (£6.8m)

There is no surprise that Trent is the first player we're highlighting, as the Liverpool defender has come up with the goods on both corners and free-kicks on multiple occasions.

With the big aerial presence of Virgil Van Dijk in the box, the Champions League winners should see more than their fair share of goals from corner and free kick deliveries.

The England international showed in last season's Champions League final he has a real eye for delivery from dead ball situations, and has been known to bang in one or two free-kicks along the way.

Luka Milivojević - (£6.6m)

Only Manchester United were awarded more penalties than Crystal Palace last season, however no player scored more times from the spot than Luka Milivojević.

The best penalty taker in the Premier League last season, scoring an incredible 10 penalties whilst taking 11. - Proving why he should be a first choice pick in your Fantasy Hub teams.

With the introduction of VAR this season and Crystal Palace keeping hold of Wilfried Zaha, we may see more penalties this season than ever before...and therefore more goals for the big Serbian.

Paul Pogba - (£7.9m)

Last season Manchester United were awarded 12 penalties in the Premier League, 9 of them were put into the back of the net, 7 of which were by Paul Pogba.

With the addition of Dan James up top, alongside Rashford and Martial, the Red Devils pace on the counter is a force to be reckoned with.

The three tricky forwards are nailed on to be brought down in the box throughout the season and with the help of VAR, Pogba is likely to continue his solid spot kick form.

Known for his 'unusual' stuttered run up, Paul Pogba had one of the best penalty records last season.

Christian Eriksen - (£7.7m)

Tottenham last season were the biggest threat from corners scoring on 14 occasions.

The reason behind their dead ball success was no doubt down to the delivery of Christian Eriksen - one of Tottenham's main set piece takers.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, if Spurs manage to keep hold of the great Dane then he'll be a great asset to any Fantasy Hub team.

Only two players achieved more assists than Christian Eriksen last season.

James Maddison - (£6.9m)

After an incredible debut season for Leicester City, James Maddison has already established himself as a top Premier League midfielder.

No player in the Premier League scored more goals from free-kick's than the England international last season, with Maddison finding the back of the net on 3 occasions.

Another important factor is that the Leicester midfielder also took the odd penalty when Vardy wasn't on the pitch, making him a threat from all areas of the field.

Harry Kane - (£8.3m)

As well as being a prolific goalscorer, Harry Kane is deadly from the penalty spot scoring all 4 penalties he took last season.

Given his role within the Tottenham squad we can assume that he'll be taking majority of the spot kicks again this season, and with his ability we're confident he'll bag plenty.

The England frontman is one of the few players to have a 100% conversion rate and have more than 3 penalties taken, so why not choose him?
