Inter Milan v Juventus Betting Tips & Odds – 28/04/18

Inter Milan v Juventus Betting Tips & Odds

In our Inter Milan v Juventus betting preview we look at what could possibly be the best bets between the two sides.

It’s a massive game in Italy this weekend as 5th place Inter Milan welcome league leaders Juventus to the San Siro. This game is huge for both sides: Inter are gunning for a spot in the top four which would gain them entry into next seasons Champions League, while Juventus are within touching distance of winning the title for the seventh consecutive time.

Massimiliano Allegri takes his side to Milan this weekend, searching for his first win in three matches.

Hosts eyeing top four finish

Inter Milan will be keen to avoid the Europa League this season, they’re main aim is to finish in the top four so they qualify for Europe’s most elite club competition – the Champions League. Luciano Spalletti’s men currently sit just a point below 4th place Lazio ahead of this weekends crunch fixture with Juve, so could end the weekend above Simone Inzaghi’s men with a win here, providing Lazio fail to beat Torino away from home in their clash this Sunday. With just four games of the season remaining, time is running out for Inter to reach that elusive top four. A defeat here could see Milan drop four points below both Lazio and Roma, should those two sides both win their respective fixtures in Serie A this weekend, making this match absolutely vital in their quest for Champions League qualification next season.

The hosts take some good momentum into this fixture after winning four and drawing one of their previous five league matches at the San Siro. Inter are unbeaten on home soil since mid-December, so will definitely prove to be an extremely difficult side to overcome here. They head into this match after back-to-back wins over Cagilari (4-0) and Chiveo (2-1), so will be brimming with confidence on Saturday evening. They’ll know the challenge of Juventus will be much greater than what they’ve faced before though, so it’s absolutely vital they play to their full potential if they’re to get anything from this encounter. With 26 league goals to his name this season, Argentinian frontman Mauro Icardi will unquestionably be Inter’s biggest threat going forward. He’s netted four goals in his last six appearances and won’t think twice about improving that statistic here if presented with half an opportunity. Icardi is 7/2 to open the scoring in this match with Betfair, and we think that could be a decent bet here considering his recent form.

Mauro Icardi

Mauro Icardi has scored four goals in his last six games ahead of this match with Juventus.

Juve stung last minute by Napoli

The visitors will be looking to bounce back from the last minute defeat they suffered at the hands of title rivals Napoli last weekend. After a goalless 90 minutes at the Allianz Arena, Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly won the game for the visitors in injury time. That disappointing result last weekend now means that Juventus’ lead at the top of Serie A has been cut to just a single point, so if they lose this match to Inter and Napoli win away at Fiorentina on Sunday, they will drop down to second place with just three games left to play. A win however would give them some breathing space at the top (for a day at least) and in the unlikely event Napoli lose on Sunday, will mean they could end the weekend four points clear at the top of the summit.

Juventus’ away form has been absolutely fantastic this term. Massimiliano Allegri’s men have lost just one game on the road since the campaign started back in August, so will feel confident in their ability to get something out of this clash with Inter Milan. Overall however, Juventus’ recent form has been shaky compared to their usually high standards. The visitors were knocked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid two weeks ago and have won just one of their previous three league matches, so it will be interesting to see if they can react correctly here and protect their stance at the top of this extremely tight division. With 21 goals league goals to show for his efforts this time out, 21-year-old front man Paulo Dybala will be the visitors main attacking threat here, alongside his Argentine companion Gonzalo Higuain (15 goals). Together they’re a force to be reckoned with and are sure to pose such a threat to Inter in this game. Dybala is priced at odds of 9/2 to score LAST in this tie with PaddyPower – he’s got a real nack for popping up in the dying stages of games with vital goals, and we could see him doing it again here!

Gonzalo Higuain

Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala are such a force for Juventus going forward.
