Juventus v AC Milan Betting Tips & Odds

In our Juventus v AC Milan betting preview we look at the best possible bets between the two sides.

The first piece of domestic silverware in Italy is up for grabs on Wednesday night, with Juventus and AC Milan facing off at the Stadio Olimpico in the Coppa Italia Final. Massimiliano Allegri’s Juventus come into this clash as big favourites to lift the trophy and it’s a competition that they have a rich history in, winning it on no fewer than twelve occasions. Should the Old Lady come out on top again this time around it will be the fourth successive time they’ve done it and they arrive in the capital in fine form, having won five of their last seven games in all competitions. AC Milan are outsiders in Rome but it’s a tag that’ll suit them and their boss Gennaro Gattuso right down to the ground. It’s been a season full of highs and lows for the Rossoneri but a victory here would be a real achievement for them as they bid to become a super power both domestically and continentally again.

Juve on course for league & cup double

It’s been another great season in Turin for Massimiliano Allegri, with the 50 year-old on the verge of securing two more pieces of silverware to go on his already impressive CV. The Old Lady haven’t been the dominant force of previous seasons, but more importantly they’ve found a way to get themselves over the line in any shape or form. They’ve been locked in a real battle for the title for the first time in years, with Maurizio Sarri’s Napoli pushing them all the way in Serie A which has really kept them on their toes. The last few weeks has seen them pull away however with them six points clear at the summit with two games to go, so with the title seemingly in the bag the onus is now on the Coppa Italia and there won’t be many betting against them coming out victorious in Rome. Juventus haven’t lost a domestic game away from home since November – a run thats seen them win ten of their previous twelve games.

They’ll come into this clash very confident that they can lift the trophy for what would be a fourth successive season and recent form suggests that they’ll do so. They’ve won five of their last seven games in all competitions and they’ve also beaten Milan in both meetings in Serie A, so they’re certainly in the driving seat coming into this one. Juve were last in action on Saturday when they recorded a routine victory over Bologna at the Allianz Stadium. Goals from Sami Khedira and Paulo Dybala did the damage in Turin and they’re both expected to feature from the off here as Juve bid for their first piece of silverware of the season. Juventus are no strangers to major finals and we can see their game management having a big say in where the trophy ends up, they have many players for the big occasion and we’re expecting them to grind out a positive result.

Gattuso eyeing up first piece of silverware as a manager

Juventus’ opponents in Rome come in the form of AC Milan who after a difficult start to the season, are starting look like a settled side under former player Gennaro Gattuso. The Milan legend returned to the club as manager back in November and the situation he inherited was extremely difficult, with the club in free fall. But since his arrival back in Milan he’s really galvanised the club, with them looking like a completely different side to the one he took over. They’re scoring goals, keeping clean sheets and more importantly they’re climbing up the table, with a return to Europe looking likely again. The Champions League spots are beyond their reach but their supporters will be feeling that if Gattuso had joined sooner, they’d be well in the mix.

Milan make the trip to Rome in pretty indifferent form, with them winning just two of their previous seven games in all competitions. Their form has dropped off ever so slightly but importantly those two wins did come in their previous two Serie A games – giving them a timely boost for Wednesday night. They were also in action on Saturday when they picked up a pretty straight forward victory over Chievo at the San Siro. Goals from Ignazio Abate, Fabio Borini, Hakan Calhanoglu and Patrick Cutrone gave them the perfect build up for this one but the challenge facing them will be so much tougher. This is a relatively inexperienced Milan side and in Juve they take on perennial winners, so they’ll really need to improve if they’re to challenge and quite frankly, we can see them coming up short.
