Juventus v AC Milan Betting Tips & Odds

In our Juventus v AC Milan betting preview we look at the best possible bets between the two sides.

Overview

This is a huge weekend in Serie A and arguably the biggest game of the weekend comes in Turin with Juventus taking on AC Milan. The hosts arrive as big favourites to pick up what could be a massive three points, with them currently setting the pace in the top flight ahead of Napoli. The Old Lady are currently just two points ahead of Maurizio Sarri’s men and with the pair locking horns soon, every result between now and the end of the season is going to be huge. The visitors make the trip to the Allianz Stadium with big aspirations of their own after going on a sublime run of form. Gennaro Gattuso’s men have climbed to within five points of the top four which has got their fans dreaming of a return to the Champions League for the first time since 2014.

Juve eyeing up their sixth straight home victory

It’s been another event season at the Allianz Stadium and it looked like it could end in yet more silverware for Juventus. The Turin based outfit are going for their seventh straight Scudetto which would set a new Italian record but this looks like it could be arguably their hardest to win. They’ve been involved in a scrap at the summit of the division with Napoli for the duration of the campaign and the Sky Blues have really taken their game to another level over the last few months – threatening to end the Old Lady’s dominance. But despite the threat of Napoli and the huge pressure on the shoulders of their squad, they’ve still been able to produce ridiculous consistency. They’ve won fourteen of their last sixteen Serie A games (two draws) which shows just how well they’re playing at the moment, so Milan will have it all to do here.

Due to the international break Juventus had have a lengthy break from action, with them last playing a fortnight ago against SPAL. It was expected to be a routine victory for them against a side in real danger of suffering relegation but despite their best efforts, they just couldn’t find the breakthrough, having to settle for a point (0-0). It was a disappointing result for Allegri’s men and there would’ve been some strong words used in the dressing room after the full-time whistle, so we’re expecting a big response here against a very good Milan side. Juve’s team is packed full of world class talent but their success in this one will lie on the shoulders of club record signing and centre forward Gonzalo Higuain, who’s in prolific form at the moment. The Argentine has contributed a huge 13 goals (10G 3A) in his last ten appearances for the Old Lady and he’ll have to be at his clinical best if his side are to come out on top here.

Gonzalo Higuain

Bonucci looking to cause upset on his first return to the Allianz Stadium

Facing Massimilliano Allegri in the dugout is AC Milan legend and manager Gennaro Gattuso, who’s done a remarkable job at the club since returning back in November. The 40 year-old was a surprise appointment to replace the sacked Vincenzo Montella as manager but he’s worked wonders since returning to the San Siro. There was never any question surrounding the quality of his squad it was just mentally they were all over the place, but he’s managed to restore their confidence and get them delivering the kind of results the fans expected when they spend some huge sums of money last summer. The likes of Andre Silva, Ricardo Rodriguez and former Juve man Leonardo Bonucci – who’s move to Milan surprised many. The Italian has been a key part of everything what Juventus have achieved in recent seasons and he’ll be desperate to claim a victory at the Allianz Stadium, something that he was used to when playing in the black and white of Juve.

Bonucci has played an important part in Milan’s revival, with his leadership qualities at the back helping his side keep clean sheets in four of their last five league games. All of those five games have ended in a Rossoneri victory which makes them one of the top flights in-form sides and they’ll certainly be stern opposition for a Juventus side that has the title in their sights. Gattuso’s men were also last in action a fortnight ago when they overcame Chievo 3-2 at the San Siro. It was a game that they were expected to win but they made very hard work of it, having to fight back from 2-1 down to win late on courtesy of Patrick Cutrone and Andre Silva to claim a much needed three points. They were good going forward but defensively they were really suspect and they’re going to need to improve considerably against Juventus or it could be a very long evening for them in Turin.
