League One looks wide open once again with several teams harbouring ambitions of promotion. The overwhelming favourites once again are Sheffield United who are set for a sixth campaign in English footballs third tier. The Blades are arguably the biggest club in the division but have found it difficult to secure promotion back to the Championship. This season they have once again changed managers, dispensing of Nigel Adkins services and instead turning to self-confessed Blade Chris Wilder. They will have competition however, with the three relegated clubs from the Championship Bolton Wanderers, Charlton Athletic and MK Dons all amongst the favourites for promotion, as are Millwall and Bradford City who were beaten in last seasons play-offs. The bookmakers are also tipping Oxford United to have a strong season having being promoted from League Two last season, they have a talented team and have made big strides in the transfer window.

At the other end, Oldham Athletic and Port Vale are both predicted to struggle and are early favourites for relegation. Both have suffered losses in the off-season with Robert Page leaving Vale for Northampton Town whilst Oldham have seen 12 of their players from last season leave the club which could prove problematic. Bury, Swindon Town and Shrewsbury Town are also amongst those anticipated to struggle but as was seen last season League One is extremely hard to forecast.

The division does have some good striking talent and the top scorer markets will prove interesting when they become available. Billy Sharp, Leon Clarke, Paddy Madden and Nicky Ajose will probably be amongst the favourites whilst newcomers Kemar Roofe, Lyle Taylor and Matty Taylor could also be worth a look in.

With the games coming thick and fast and goals flying in at both ends, make sure to check back all season for the best League One betting tips, news match previews and of course the all important football betting tips from Team FA’s tipsters.
