Lincoln v Notts County Betting Tips & Odds

In our Lincoln v Notts County betting preview we look at the best possible bets between the two sides.

Danny Cowley’s Lincoln City welcome Notts County to Sincil Bank on Saturday for a huge clash at the summit of League Two. The hosts come into this clash as one of the divisions in-form sides and they’ll be very confident that they can pick up what could prove to be a huge three points. They’ve won their last four games on home soil and they could climb to within just four points of their opponents should they come out on top here. The visitors on the other hand are up in second position and they have their sights set on top spot, with them just four points behind leaders Luton. Kevin Nolan’s men have been superb over the course of the campaign but they’ve come unstuck in recent weeks, winning just two of their previous six league games.

Lincoln success story continues to gather momentum

It’s been an incredible twelve months or so for Lincoln City Football Club and things don’t look like they’re going to slow down anytime soon. The Imps won promotion from the National League last term along with becoming the first ever non-league side to make the quarter-finals of The FA Cup, all in Cowley’s first year at the club. Now he’s looking to write even more history and guide the club to famous back-to-back promotions and they’re looking in incredibly good stead to achieve that, with the clubs board backing him heavily. City have added plenty of numbers to their promotion winning squad with an awful lot of Football League knowhow coming in to bolster their chances of achieving something special.

They’ve been busy in the January window adding two new faces so far, with James Wilson arriving from Sheffield United and managing to pull off a huge coup in re-signing former academy graduate Lee Frecklington from Rotherham United. The 32 year-old was club captain at the New York Stadium and its a move that’s rocked his former supporters, highlighting just what a job Lincoln have done to get him back at Sincil Bank. He will add plenty of quality and experience to an already strong midfield and he’s set to make his debut here, where Lincoln have been excellent in recent weeks. The Imps have won each of their previous four games in front of their own supporters and they’re scoring goals, with ten coming in that period so they’re going to full be of confidence here in front of a crowd that could go over 9.5k at the Bank.

One win in six on the road for the Magpies

Making the trip to Lincolnshire are Kevin Nolan’s Notts County who’ve enjoyed a superb first half of the season. The Magpies have gone from strength to strength since the arrival of the former Bolton and West Ham back in January, dramatically changing their fortunes. They were in danger of the drop when he arrived but he’s now transformed them into a side that looks capable of winning promotion into League One. County have been a tussle at the top of the division with Luton for the duration of the campaign and it has the potential to go right down to the wire, with both sides looking like a cut above anything else after 26 games. But there has been some bad news to come out the club over the last few days, which could hit the club hard.

Nottingham Forest loanee Ryan Yates was re-called by his parent club in midweek and sent back out on loan to League One outfit Scunthorpe, which could potentially leave them short in midfield. He’s been a big hit at the club alongside fellow Forest loanee Jorge Grant and it’ll be interesting to see how they fare without him. He played his final game for the club last weekend when they produced a big shock to knock Championship Brentford out the FA Cup courtesy of second half effort from veteran forward Jon Stead. That was the Magpies’ third win in four games and provided the perfect build-up for this clash against a very strong Lincoln side. It’s a tough one to call but one thing we do expect is goals, with both teams possessing plenty of firepower.
