Manchester United v West Brom Betting Tips & Odds

In our Manchester United v West Brom betting preview we look at the best possible bets between the two sides.

Manchester United will host managerless West Brom for the late kick off on Sunday. Manchester United are coming into this game on the back of a great win against city rivals Manchester City. Now playing against West Brom a win will be very much expected. They’re second in the League and can go seven points clear of Liverpool, in third with a win here. West Brom come into this game having not won in ten. They’ve recently sacked Alan Pardew and are close to being the first team confirmed as relegated. They’ve only managed three wins all season, winning one game since the end of August. It’s hard to see West Brom getting anything from this game.

Are Manchester United back?

Manchester United has made some big improvements this season. They haven’t always played the most attractive football under Jose Mourinho, but he promises wins and he usually delivers. They’re currently second in the Premier League and look set to finish there with a four point advantage over Liverpool in third. Thy’ve won their last five games in a row, winning against city rivals Manchester City 3-2 last time out after being 2-0 down. This performance showed what this Jose Mourinho’s side are made of. Coming up against a very poor West Brom side they will be expected to win here. It is likely West Brom will sit back and defend, United may need so creative brilliance to break them down.

Paul Pogba has been a man in the media of recent. After lots of talk about him being offered to Manchester City in January he showed where his loyalties lie with an impressive performance against them, scoring two goals and getting United back into the game. If he can produce another performance like that here West Brom will be in trouble. With the FA Cup semi-final fast approaching the Manchester United player will be fighting for a starting spot. A player almost guaranteed a place in the team is Romelu Lukaku, he is their top goal scorer this season and a big part to the team’s tactics. West Brom is one of Lukaku’s former clubs and will be looking to add to his good goal scoring record against them on Sunday.

Jose Mourinho

It hasn’t always been pretty but Jose Mourinho has improved this Manchester United side

West Brom all but relegated

It has been a tough season for West Brom fans. Many of them would’ve got what they wanted with the departure of Tony Pulis and his negative approach to football. However, he has managed to keep the team in the Premier League for the last few years. With the sacking of Tony Pulis, Alan Pardew came to the club, being tasked to keep them in the Premier League. It never worked out for Pardew only picking up 13 points in the 21 games he had in-charge. West Brom are now managerless and will begin to think about life in the Championship. They’ve only won one game away from home all season and it’s hard to see them getting anything at Old Trafford.

Playing against the most successful English club ever is never going to be easy and to make matters worse for West Brom they’ve a number of key players doubtful for the game. Both Gareth Barry and former Manchester Untied player Jonny Evans will be doubts for this game. The experience of players these will be a big miss for West Brom and will struggle defensively if they don’t make the starting eleven. West Brom haven’t been too bad defensively when looking at their League position but going forward has been their main weakness. They’ve scored the least amount of goals in the Premier League only managing 26 all of 17/18. Playing against a Manchester United team that has kept sixteen clean sheets this season it’s hard to see West Brom scoring here.
