The World Cup has been the centre of attention for everyone since domestic football drew to it's conclusion at the end of May. England's success and some incredible games have provided plenty of talking points to distract us from Premier League matters. There's been some crazy going-ons in the top flight whilst international football has taken centre stage, with non more so than Chelsea.
It's been common knowledge for some time that Antonio Conte isn't happy, with the Italian vocal in his views on the clubs transfer policy and reluctance to give him full control over various matters. A fifth placed league finish and early exit from the Champions League looked to be the final nail in the coffin for him - but he did manage to give the fans something to shout about by winning The FA Cup.
That appears not to be enough for trigger happy owner Roman Abramovich, who's clearly unhappy with the direction that the 48 year-old is taking the club in. Innovative Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri has been the red hot favourite to replace him and the clubs pursuit of the Italian is one of the most drawn out sagas of the summer already, but as it stands Conte is still in the hot seat.
With the non-World Cup players now back in for pre-season and Conte leading training, no one seems to know what exactly is going on including the man himself. So with the clock ticking for the beginning of the Premier League on August 10th, this situations needs to be sorted very quickly. So what exactly is going on at Stamford Bridge?
