Can you name England debutant since 2011?

It’s the dream of so many young people around the country to become a professional footballer. Only so many of us are lucky to experience the thrill of it at any professional level and even fewer on the biggest stage of all. We all have our own opinion on the England team, whether good or bad, how things should be done & what we’d do if we got to pull on the famous white strip. The Three Lions may not have enjoyed huge amounts of success over the last few years but we have seen some very good players come into the side and do a job.

Since the turn of the millennium we’ve seen the likes of Wayne Rooney, Steven Gerrard and John Terry rise through the ranks to represent England along with several other top players which shows you just how much quality we’ve produced. The current crop of players may not be held in as high regard as some of their predecessors but with time on their side they have plenty of opportunities to win over their doubters, especially with the World Cup in Russia just months away. England secured their spot in the tournament after finishing top of their group during qualification, but the hopes aren’t too high going into the tournament.

Gareth Southgate is the man tasked with the impossible job of getting the fans back on board with the national team and he’s gone about it by trying to give some new blood an opportunity. He’s already given twelve players their debut since replacing Sam Allardyce as head coach which indicates how keen he is for competition in his squad. Four picked up their new caps during England’s goalless draw on Friday night which got us thinking, just how many players have made their debuts for England over the last few years.

We’ve made a quiz on EVERY England player to make their debut since 2011 and we’ve given you eight minutes to name as many as possible. It’s not easy at all so give it your best shot and tweet your best attempts into us @FootyAccums & we’ll RT the best – good luck!
