SAVE THE POOLS – Hartlepool United need £200,000 to avoid administration

The stress and worry has hit fever pitch for Hartlepool United, who have been told that they need to raise a whopping £200,000 within in the next fifteen days, or will be automatically put into administration. They’ve been in uncertain waters for some time, and there were even hints of a change coming about through new owners being close to agreeing terms just yesterday, but with any prospect falling through, the club have been left with an unwanted but inevitable reality.

Soccer Saturday presenter Jeff Stelling is an avid fan of The Pools and had to witness his beloved side drop out of League Two on the final day of last season. It’d be no surprise to see him doing all he can to help out their situation as they’ve now met a fate even worse than relegation. Not only is it a shame to see for any football club in general but it’s also upsetting to see another North East based side struggle, as Middlesbrough were relegated from a seldom term in the Premier League at the end of last season, Sunderland dropped down to the Championship too and now battle to stay in the second tier as they sit bottom, and Newcastle United were only just promoted back to the Premier League but are now yo-yoing from issues with their ownership.

All rivalries have been put aside in order to save The Pools from an almost set fate in a future that all clubs dread, with North Easterly club Middlesbrough reportedly already putting their hat in the ring to join the fight. We urge you to do the same as nobody wants to see a football club go into such an uncertain situation, so we want to do all we can to turn things drastically around.
