AC Milan v Inter Milan 7:45pm KO – Live streaming available on bet365
The San Siro plays host to one of the games of the weekend as AC Milan and Inter Milan face off. AC Milan are enjoying something of a revival this season under the stewardship of Vincenzo Montella. The former Sampdoria and Fiorentina boss made the move to Milan in the summer and his impact at the club has been quite remarkable and they’re looking a different side to the one that finished in seventh last season. The Rossoneri have 25 points from their opening twelve games and they could go into second if results go their way.
Milan are one of the divisions in-form sides and they’ve won seven of their last nine games in Serie A. A victory over Inter here would make it three on the bounce after defeating Pescara (1-0) and Palermo (2-1) before the international break. Montella has instilled a new found steel which has seen them lose just three times and they’ve keep six clean sheets already this season. Their defensive core of Gianluigi Donnarumma, Alessio Romagnoli and Gabriel Paletta is as solid as anything Serie A has to offer and they’re efforts at the back are being rewarded by the form of Carlos Bacca. The Colombian is leading the scoring charts with six goals and we fancy him to add to that here (priced at 29/20).
Inter Milan’s season on the other hand has been nothing short of a disaster. The club are underperforming yet again and they’re already on their second manager of the season in Stefano Pioli. He replaced Frank De Boer who was sacked by the club after just three months in charge and there’s plenty of pressure on the new man to turn around their fortunes. He inherits a side that’s down in ninth position and they’re eight points behind their city rivals. A defeat could see them fall as low as fourteenth so there’s plenty of pressure on them to get a result here.
Their recent form hardly inspires confidence either, The Nerazurri have lost four of their last six league games, including their last three away from home. But despite their poor run they’re a side to write off at your peril. Inter’s squad is packed full of quality in all areas and they have plenty of capable match winners with the likes of Ivan Perisic, Stevan Jovetic and Antonio Candreva all key parts of their side. But the main man is Argentine forward Mauro Icardi – the 23 year-old has scored ten of the clubs eighteen league goals this season and he’s certainly the danger man in their side.
We’re expecting this to be one of the most entertaining games in Europe on Saturday with plenty of fireworks and drama. Both clubs have illustrious history but things haven’t gone to plan in recent seasons, which has added some extra spice to the fixture. AC are the in-form side at the moment and Vincenzo Montella will be relishing his first experience of the Milan derby in the cauldron that is the San Siro. We’re tipping him to come out on top here against their misfiring city rivals, but it won’t be easy. We’re going for an AC Milan win with both sides getting on the scoresheet which is available at a price of 9/2.

Atalanta v Roma 2pm KO
Sunday’s 2pm kick-off sees Atalanta host Roma at the Atleti Azzurri d’Italia looking to continue their great start to the new season. Gian Piero Gasperini’s men are flying high up in fifth position coming into the weekend and they could leapfrog AC Milan in third temporarily with a victory here. They’re in great form at the moment, winning their last four league outings which includes big victories over Inter Milan (2-1), Genoa (3-0) and Sassuolo (3-0). Atalanta fans haven’t seen their side fall to a defeat since the end of September so they’ll come into this one full of confidence.
It’s been a real team effort from La Dea to date, they have plenty of quality in their side but the spirit and work rate that Gasperini has instilled is very impressive. It’s seen them lose just four times this season and he’s getting the best out of his whole squad – both his experienced and younger players. The likes of Alejandro Gomez, Andrea Petagna and Jasmin Kurtic are all flourishing under the 58 year-olds guidance but none more so than Franck Kessie. The 19 year-old Ivory Coast international has four goals in nine games from midfield and he’s forging a big reputation in Serie A. His late runs into the box are a huge threat and Roma will be weary of the danger he poses.
Roma make the trip to the Atleti Azzurri d’Italia four points and three places above their opponents. It’s been a strong start to the campaign for Luciano Spalletti’s men and much like the hosts, they come into this clash in great form. Roma fans have seen their side win five of their last six games and they’re producing some fantastic football. Spalletti’s side have already disposed of Inter (2-1), Napoli (3-1) and Sassuolo (3-1) this season and they’re one of the most feared sides Serie A has to offer. However with leaders Juventus playing on Saturday evening, they come into this game under pressure to get a result – they’re four points off the pace at the moment but it could be extended to seven before they kick off at 2pm on Sunday.
But despite the form of Atalanta, Roma have the quality to comfortably take the three points. Spalletti is spoilt for choice in attack and he has some excellent options going forward, the likes of Stephan El Shaarawy, Edin Dzeko and the evergreen Francesco Totti have been brilliant and it will be interesting to see who starts. One man who’s certain to feature from the off is former Chelsea man Mohamed Salah. He’s been a revelation since his arrival in the capital and in twelve games this season he’s scored eight and assisted four. He hit a hat-trick in his last outing and we fancy him to hit the back of the net here (priced at 6/4).
This game will be one of the most free flowing of the weekend between two sides who enjoy playing attacking football. Each of them are in excellent form and we’re expecting plenty of entertainment. Atalanta have won their last three on home so they’ll be full of confidence, but we’re expecting the visitors to have too much for them here. Roma’s squad up there with the best in the division and we can see their class coming through after ninety minutes – they’re priced at 23/10 to get the three points with BTTS which looks like great value.
