Tottenham v Bournemouth Betting Tips and Odds

In our Tottenham v Bournemouth betting preview we look at the best possible betting tips between the two sides.

A struggling Bournemouth side travel to Wembley for this clash against a Tottenham side who currently find themselves near the top of the table in 3rd, 4 points behind leaders Manchester City. Bournemouth have had a really poor start to the season, they’re second bottom in the table and are already among the early favourites for relegation come the end of the season. The Cherries have only managed one win so far, but could climb out of the drop zone with a win here, should 17th place Leicester slip up against West Brom on Monday night.

Spurs always struggle for form at Wembley this season.

Super spell for Spurs

The hosts go into this clash firm favourites for the win after 4 wins and 2 draws from 7 this time out, they’ve got aspirations of winning the league after coming so close in the past two seasons but know it’s going to be an incredibly tough task because of the strength in depth the league possesses this season. The two Manchester sides are currently neck and neck at the top of the table, separated by goal difference alone and have already forged a 4 point gap between themselves and the rest of the division, that gap could be closed to just 2 points however if Tottenham win this match and United fail to beat Liverpool at Anfield in the weekends early kick off on Saturday.

Spurs have struggled with playing at Wembley in recent seasons, they are yet to win a single league game at their temporary home this season, a fact that will definitely play on their mind when they line up to face Bournemouth in this clash. They do go into this fixture on the back of a resounding 4-0 win over Premier League new boys Huddersfield a week before the international break, leading goalscorer Harry Kane scored his 5th and 6th goal of the campaign in that game against the Terriers; he’s been on fire since the start of September and will definitely be looking to add to his tally in this game against the struggling southerners here. Tottenham have scored 7 goals without reply in their last two matches, both away from home, showing everyone just how strong they are at the back and how lethal they can be going forward. With the likes of Deli Alli and Christian Eriksen pulling the strings in the middle, creating the chances for Harry Kane to finish off they really are a formidable force when they  apply themselves; Bournemouth are going to have to play out of their skin to stand any chance here.

Tottenham need a win here to maintain pressure on the top two.

Visitors in danger

Bournemouth head into this game knowing that they will have their work cut out against a strong Tottenham outfit. Eddie Howe’s men have done well since their introduction to the Premier League in 2014, but now seem to be struggling to cope with the demands of the top flight. The Cherries spent a lot of money over the summer on players who are yet to deliver; veteran striker Jermaine Defoe arrived in July from recently relegated Sunderland in the hope he would cement a top 10 finish for Eddie Howe’s men, but has so far struggled to get going. The 35 year old England international has only bagged 1 goal this time out against Brighton, so will definitely be feeling the pressure to turn his form around sooner rather than later on the South Coast

The visitors always struggle against Tottenham, in fact they’ve never even beaten them in the Premier League. Last season they did manage a goalless draw when they welcomed them to The Vitality Stadium, only to be hammered 4-0 in the reverse fixture at White Hart Lane 6 months later thanks to goals from Moussa Dembele, Son Heung-min, Harry Kane and Vincent Janssen. The Cherries did manage a draw in their last outing against Leicester before the international break however, they were tight at the back in that game and didn’t concede, so will go into this game with the same game plan in the hope it will pay dividends come full time.

Bournemouth currently sit 19th in the league.

This game looks set to sway in favour of the hosts, they’re by far the better team on paper and have such a strong squad at their disposal. Bournemouth currently find themselves in dire form and desperately need to start picking up some much needed points, but we can’t see them doing so in this game. Harry Kane is the obvious choice to score first, but because of the England man’s recent prolific form there’s no value in backing him as FGS, so backing Deli Alli to net first after one of his trademark creative runs could be a better option! He’s 10/3 to do this with Ladbrokes. A win for the hosts is best priced at 2/11 with Betfair, while a shock win for the visitors is a mammoth 14/1 with BetStars! The draw is best priced at 13/2 with PaddyPower.
