Sheffield Wednesday and Coventry face one another for the second time in under a week on Friday night as they two sides square off in the FA Cup fourth round at Hillsborough.
Sheffield Wednesday reached the fourth round of the FA Cup by beating Cardiff City 4-0 in the third round.
The Owls suffered a miserable start to the campaign following a tumultuous summer off the pitch but since rookie manager Danny Röhl took the reigns they've been a much improved outfit, despite still sitting in the relegation zone.
They're coming into this game in solid form having won three and lost two of their last five games, the most recent of which was a 1-2 loss to Coventry City at the weekend.
It was a fairly admirable performance from the Owls but the visitors simply had more quality in key moments, which was largely expected given the game was effectively a relegation candidate against a promotion contender.
The Owls have generally been very good on home soil since Röhl took over and are hard to beat on their own patch having lost just two of their last seven games on home soil.
Following the defeat to Coventry at the weekend, Coventry's Twitter account directed a clear jibe at Wednesday which riled a number of fans, and that will no doubt have filtered down to the players so there's likely to be an extra edge to this game.
The Owls will be looking for revenge here but it won't come easily.
Coventry reached the fourth round of the FA Cup by beating Oxford United 6-2 in a dominant win.
The Sky Blues had their hearts broken by Luton Town at Wembley last May and after losing a number of players in the summer they started this season slowly, but having now integrated the replacements for last summer's departures they've really started to find their groove as they enter this game unbeaten in their last ten games having won their last four on the bounce.
As mentioned, their latest outing saw them beat this week's opponents 2-1, with a brace from midfielder Ben Sheaf enough for all three points.
Following that win, Mark Robins's side have now won their last three away games on the bounce so they'll feel more than confident of making it four here.
Automatic promotion is probably out of reach for Coventry, but the playoffs are looking more likely as the weeks pass by and a good cup run would likely aid them in that pursuit.
For our Sheffield Wednesday vs. Coventry prediction, we're going for a 1-1 draw.
