Aston Villa vs PSG Prediction

Aston Villa are up against it in their second-leg tie against Paris Saint-Germain, and although Villa Park will be a tough place to go, PSG have been excellent this season, and we think they will progress on aggregate with a draw on the night at Villa Park.

Aston Villa have an excellent home record heading into the game, with the Villains having won their previous five games at Villa Park in all competitions. However, Aston Villa will be tasked with overcoming a 3-1 deficit from the first leg, in which Le Parisiens largely dominated.

As for PSG, they have been excellent against English opposition, as they have beaten the likes of Manchester City and eventual Premier League champions Liverpool in the round of 16. We are predicting a goal-fest between the two sides, as over 2.5 goals have been scored in the last seven matches involving Aston Villa and in four of the previous five games involving PSG.

Aston Villa’s home record will be a difficult task for PSG to overcome, and whilst they may not secure a win on the night, we think a 2-2 draw with PSG progressing on aggregate (5-3).

Aston Villa 2-2 PSG - PSG to progress (5-3) on aggregate.

Aston Villa vs PSG Preview & Prediction

Unai Emery welcomes a visit from his former employers in midweek, as his Aston Villa side must overcome a two-goal deficit against Paris Saint-Germain.

Date: 15/04/2025
Location: Villa Park, Birmingham.
Kick–Off: 8 pm

Aston Villa opened the scoring against the French visitors in the reverse leg when John McGinn won the ball back from the left side, and a well-worked move allowed Youri Tielemans to square the ball to Morgan Rogers at the back post. However, PSG’s dominance over the game showed, with the likes of Desire Doue and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in particular providing two stunning goals for Le Parisiens. Nuno Mendes secured a comfortable win in the latter stages of the game.

Unai Emery’s side have placed themselves in an excellent position in the Premier League, with the Villains currently seventh in the league table, only one point away from fifth-placed Manchester City. Fifth place is guaranteed qualification for the UEFA Champions League this season.

As for the visitors, there is a general consensus that this season might be the year where their European triumph may fall in their favour. PSG have already secured another league title and are in the final of the Coup de France, in which they will face Stade Reims. Their performance against Liverpool in the round of 16 was sensational, with the midfield trio of Joao Neves, Vitinha and Fabian performing brilliantly across both legs.
