Feyenoord vs AC Milan Prediction

Feyenoord versus AC Milan could be an intriguing clash in the Champions League, as following the host's shock 3-0 win over Bayern Munich, they went on a dismal three game losing streak while also losing star striker, Santiago Giménez to AC Milan late on in the January transfer window.

The Mexican forward scored a debut goal for Milan in their 2-0 win at Empoli at the weekend, after previously finding the back of the net 16 times in 19 appearances across all competitions for Feyenoord this campaign.

Sérgio Conceição’s arrival at the San Siro has made a marked improvement on AC Milan’s season, as the Rossoneri have won seven and drawn one of their ten matches under the ex-FC Porto coach. Interestingly, the Over 2.5 Goals market has landed in four of AC’s last five matches, a trend that we believe will be repeated here.

Prediction: Feyenoord 1-2 AC Milan

Feyenoord vs AC Milan Prediction & Preview

Feyenoord takes on Italian giants AC Milan at De Kuip in the Champions League’s Round of 32 play-off.

Date: 12/02/2025

Location: De Kuip

Time: 8pm

The hosts managed to finish 19th in the Group Stage of the Champions League with 13 points from eight matches, having earned wins over Girona (3-2), Benfica (3-1), Sparta Prague (4-2) and Bayern Munich (3-0) while drawing with Manchester City (3-3) and losing to Bayer Leverkusen (4-0), Red Bull Salzburg (3-1) and Lille (6-1).

It has been a turbulent campaign for the Rotterdam-based club, as they sit fifth in the Dutch Eredivisie on 39 points from 21 matches, just behind AZ Alkmaar and Utrecht, as well as 12 points adrift of fierce rivals Ajax and PSV. This is a significant shortcoming when considering that Feyenoord were expected to challenge for the title, as they did last season under Arne Slot after their impressive 2022/23 title win.

Feyenoord are also out of the KNVB Cup, as they were beaten 2-0 at PSV in the quarter-finals, meaning that all they have left to play for is the Champions League and a battle for third-place in their domestic league.

AC Milan look revitalised under Conceição following Paulo Fonseca’s underwhelming spell in charge at the San Siro, as at present, they are seven points off the Champions League qualification places in Serie A with a game in hand, while managing to win the Supercoppa Italiana at the expense of Inter Milan as well as also qualifying for the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia.

As previously mentioned, the ex-Porto manager has a solid win record since his arrival at the seven-time European Cup/Champions League winners. During his time at FC Porto, Conceição oversaw 11 trophy wins in just seven years while competing against the likes of then-Ruben Amorim’s Sporting Lisbon.

Where to Watch

Feyenoord versus AC Milan will be shown live on TNT Sports 3 in the UK.

Team News

Feyenoord

Feyenoord could have some key absences for this game, as the likes of Justin Bijlow, Jordan Lotomba, Gernot Trauner, Calvin Stengs, Chris Nadje and Ramiz Zerrouki are all set to miss out.

AC Milan

Emerson Royal and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are AC Milan’s only injury worries heading into this clash.

Form Guide

Feyenoord

Feyenoord managed a confidence-boosting 3-0 win at home to local rivals Sparta Rotterdam at the weekend thanks to goals by Quinten Timber, Anis Hadji-Moussa and Igor Paixao all got on the scoresheet.

Prior to that game, Feyenoord had suffered defeats to PSV (2-0), Ajax (2-1) and Lille (6-1) after an impressive 3-0 home victory over Bayern Munich on matchday seven of the Champions League Group Stage.

AC Milan

AC Milan have won three, drawn one and lost one of their last five matches, with their defeat coming at the hands of Dinamo Zagreb (3-0), a result which cost them a place in the Round of 16, however, this was largely due to the fact that Yunus Musah received a red card in the 39th-minute of the game.

The visitors have managed solid wins over Parma (3-2), AS Roma (3-1) and Empoli (2-0) while drawing 1-1 at home with Inter Milan.
