PSG vs Inter Milan Prediction

This year's Champions League final will be one of the most evenly contested finals we have had in recent memory, with both teams heading into this game with equally great form. Inter Milan will be looking to avoid the loss of 2023, whereas PSG are on the hunt for their maiden triumph in this competition.

This season, there appears to be something different regarding this Paris Saint-Germain side. Traditionally, PSG have been a team that has squandered their chances in European football, despite being bolstered by elite talent in their team. However, this season, Luis Enrique has built a structured and organised side capable of beating many European teams, including Premier League champions Liverpool. The Ligue 1 Champions are heading into this game, with four consecutive victories before the final.

As for Inter Milan, they have shown great resiliency in this competition, having shown these qualities in their comeback victory against Barcelona in the second leg of their semi-final. However, we think their fortunes will end against PSG in the final in a close encounter with the French side.

This game could go to extra time, as both teams have been to those stages of the game, in at least one of their respective knockout ties, but ultimately PSG will prevail and pick up their first Champions League trophy under the Qatari Sports Investment Group.

PSG vs Inter Milan Preview & Prediction

PSG hopes to finally win Europe's premier competition, as they take on an Inter Milan side, hoping to avenge the final loss of 2023 against Manchester City.

Date: 31/05/2025

Location: Allianz Arena, Munich.

Kick-Off: 8 pm

This season's Champions League final is surely going to be a fascinating watch for the neutrals when PSG face Inter Milan in Munich on Saturday. Luis Enrique looks to become one of the very few managers to win a European Cup with two separate clubs, having achieved his first and only triumph as manager of Barcelona in 2015. Conveniently, his Barcelona side overcame Spanish opposition in the form of Juventus in that final. Meanwhile, Simone Inzaghi (linked with a move away from Inter Milan) looks to secure the Champions League, after seemingly being on course for a treble only weeks ago.

Paris Saint-Germain remains the only team in European Football that could potentially achieve the coveted treble this season. Typically, the French side have secured the league title and the Coupe de France over the weekend. However, the Champions League has forever eluded Luis Enrique's side. Le Parisiens reached the final of the competition in 2020, where they were beaten by Hansi Flick's rampant Bayern Munich side. They have consistently underperformed in this competition, losing to Manchester United and Barcelona most notably in recent years.

PSG have shown excellent team resolve this season with their European performances, particularly against Premier League champions, Liverpool. PSG were the deserved winners in that tie, beating Arne Slot's side on penalties, and recording a tremendous 1-0 win at Anfield. PSG have beaten English opposition throughout, with wins against Arsenal and Aston Villa.

Inter Milan's season now solely rests on the result at the weekend, following their inability to capitalise on Napoli dropping points in the Serie A title race. Inzaghi's side were also comprehensively beaten in the Coppa Italia's semi-finals by local rivals AC Milan. As mentioned, Inter Milan were defeated by English side, Manchester City, in the final of 2023, in a game which arguably they should have won. This season, Inter Milan have had to overcome a difficult run, which had seen them beat Bayern Munich and Barcelona along the route to the final.

Claude Makélélé's Thoughts

“It’s a huge game for PSG and for French football. PSG have come close in the past but Luis Enrique has done a fantastic job with this squad and they have been really impressive in this year’s UEFA Champions League.

I don’t think being favorites matters for PSG. They will know Inter’s strengths, they are a really strong team, they have options to cause problems, so it’s all about the performance in the night and continuing to play as a team unit like they have all season. All they will be thinking about is winning – getting their hands on that trophy. I can’t wait, it should be a fascinating night in Munich.

Claude Makélélé was speaking on behalf of bet365, the official global partner of the UEFA Champions League, which is hosting its Big Ticket Giveaway Game this Friday 30th May in Munich from 4pm, where fans have the chance to win tickets to the UEFA Champions League final. Team News

PSG Team News:

Luis Enrique should have a clean bill of health in options to choose from, with only Presnel Kimpembe the only injury concern for the Ligue 1 Champions.

Inter Milan Team News:

Inter Milan rested many of their key players at the weekend, as they lost out to Napoli for the league title. Alessandro Bastoni and Francesco Acerbi were both booked in the semi-final victory against Barcelona. Benjamin Pavard is expected to miss out, as the Frenchman was ruled out with an ankle injury against Como.

Form Guide

PSG:

PSG are coming into this game in excellent form across all competitions, following their 3-0 win against Stade Reims in the Coupe de France. Bradley Barcola was on hand to score a brace for Luis Enrique's side inside the first 20 minutes, and the Champions League finalists secured the second leg of their treble through a third goal from Achraf Hakimi before half-time.

PSG rounded off their league campaign with two consecutive victories against Auxerre (3-1) and Montpellier (1-4) and had won their last European match against Premier League runners-up, Arsenal (2-1).

Inter Milan:

Inter Milan are also in excellent form heading into this game, with no losses in their last six matches, although their draw against Lazio (2-2) ended up costing Simone Inzaghi's side the Scudetto to Napoli. Inter Milan have recorded notable victories against Como (0-2), Torino (0-2), Barcelona (4-3) and Hellas Verona (1-0).

For Inter Milan to beat PSG in the final, they will have to look to their heroics against Barcelona. Raphinha's potential winner in the 87th minute had seemingly booked Hansi Flick's side into the final until a late goal from Francesco Acerbi and an extra-time winner from Davide Frattesi secured the Italian side's spot in the final.
