PSV vs Juventus Prediction

PSV versus Juventus will be an intriguing match-up, as the hosts need to overturn the 2-1 defeat that they suffered in the first leg, however, they do have the goalscoring capabilities to do so.

The Dutch Eredivisie side have scored 11 times in four Champions League matches at Philips Stadion having faced the likes of Sporting Lisbon, Girona, Shakhtar Donetsk and Liverpool. Meanwhile, Juventus have won just one Champions League match away from home this campaign, with that victory coming on matchday two at RB Leipzig.

With the home side being much more free-scoring, managing 71 goals in 23 Dutch Eredivisie matches compared to Juventus’ tally of 42 in 25 Serie A games, we predict that PSV will win both the game and the tie.

Prediction: PSV 3-1 Juventus

PSV vs Juventus Prediction & Preview

PSV hosts Juventus at Philips Stadion in the second-leg of the Champions League’s Round of 32, with the visitors currently holding a 2-1 advantage from the first leg in Turin.

Date: 19/02/2025

Location: Philips Stadion

Time: 8pm

Juventus managed to beat PSV at the Allianz Stadium, as Weston McKennie and Samuel Mbangula managed to score for the Serie A outfit on either side of a 56th-minute equaliser from Ivan Perišić.

The aforementioned meeting was the second time that PSV and Juventus have faced off this campaign, having already met on matchday one of the Group Stage where the Old Lady ran out as 3-1 victors once again on home soil.

Peter Bosz’s men are having a superb campaign, as they are firmly in a title race with Ajax as they sit two points behind their fierce rivals with 52 points from 23 matches while finding the net 71 times and conceding just 26.

Meanwhile, in the KNVB Cup, PSV have managed to advance to the semi-finals, having knocked out Koninklijke 8-0, Excelsior 5-4 and Feyenoord 2-0.

Noticeably, PSV have also performed well in Europe, as they managed to finish 14th in the Champions League Group Stage with 14 points from eight matches. During the Group Stage, PSV kicked off their group stage with a 3-1 home loss to Juventus, before drawing 1-1 with both Sporting Lisbon and PSG, prior to victories against Girona (4-0), Shakhtar Donetsk (3-2), Red Star Belgrade (3-2) and Liverpool (3-2) while suffering a narrow 1-0 loss at Brest.

On the other hand, Juventus are fourth in Serie A with 46 points from 25 matches and have been proven to be a tough nut to crack, as Thiago Motta’s men have suffered just one defeat, although they have racked up 11 wins and 13 draws in the process.

Juve are in the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia where they’ll face Empoli on 26th February, having previously progressed past Cagliari 4-0 in the Round of 16.

As far as their Champions League campaign goes, Juventus managed to finish 20th in the Group Stage with 12 points from eight matches, having won just three matches, beating PSV (3-1) and Manchester City (2-0) at home, as well as RB Leipzig (3-2) in Germany. The visitors managed to draw with Lille (1-1), Aston Villa (0-0) and Club Brugge (0-0) while losing to Stuttgart (1-0) and Benfica (2-0).

PSV

Peter Bosz has a few injury doubts heading into this match, as the likes of Olivier Boscagli, Rick Karsdorp, Guus Til, Malik Tillman and Ricardo Pepi could all miss out.

Form Guide

PSV

PSV will be aiming to improve on their recent form here, as they have recently been held tpo 2-2 and 3-3 draws by Utrecht and NEC on either side of their 2-0 cup win over Feyenoord, 1-1 draw with Willem II and 2-1 loss at the Allianz Stadium.

Noticeably, PSV aren’t particularly reliant on one player to score goals, having had eight different goalscorers in their last five matches.

Juventus

Juventus have recently found themselves on a four game winning streak since suffering a 2-0 home defeat to Benfica on matchday eight of the Champions League Group Stage.

Thiago Motta’s men have managed to beat Empoli (4-1), Como (2-1), PSV (2-1) and Inter Milan (1-0), with Francisco Conceição getting on the scoresheet in the latter mentioned victory.
