PSV
As mentioned, PSV's games this season have all been extremely high scoring. Their last match, versus NAC Breda, was no exception.
After a shock opened by the visitors, PSV replied twice in the first half, before making certain in the 94th minute, although there was still time for a 96th minute consolation.
During the match they created 4 major chances, took 23 shots, and it was only some impressive goalkeeping which kept the score as close as it ended up being.
What is even more impressive is their rotation through the season; only 3 players (including the suspended Ryan Flamingo) have played more than 1,350 minutes in the league this season (15 full games out of 20).
Manager Peter Bosz has fully utilised his deep range of attacking options, with five players scoring more than 6 league goals. Ricardo Pepi has been their secret weapon off the bench scoring a hugely impressive 11 goals in just 683 minutes, but he's struggled to start in front of club legend Luuk de Jong - who himself is having an excellent season, scoring 9 and assisting 5 times.
Liverpool
The Reds travel to the Netherlands off the back of a 4-1 victory over Ipswich powered by a standout performance by Dutchman Cody Gakpo who scored twice and assisted once in a match which was totally dominated by Liverpool.
Their last five matches have all seen similar levels of control; only poor finishing vs Lille in the previous round of the Champions League saw the match finish as close as the 2-1 scoreline suggests.
Versus Brentford two weeks ago they peppered Mark Flekken's goal with a massive 37 shots - the joint sixth most shots in a Premier League match ever.
The only two blips on their recent record are a 1-1 draw against Forest, another match where they outperformed their opposition but failed to prove clinical in the final third, and a 1-0 loss at Tottenham in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi final.
There, they outpassed their opposition (565 vs 377) but had an off day otherwise. That said it was only a controversial late winner for Spurs which gave them the advance, and Liverpool will be confident that they can correct the record in the return leg at Anfield next week.
