Manchester City turn their attention to the Champions League this week as they lock horns with Villarreal.
- Date: 21/10/2025
- Kick-off: 8:00pm
- Location: El Madrigal, Villarreal
Villarreal are currently 26th in the Champions League table with one point from two games. The Spanish side kicked off their campaign with a 1-0 defeat away at Tottenham, before drawing 2-2 with Juventus.
In La Liga, the Yellow Submarine are flying, sitting 3rd in the table with 17 points from nine games. Their form is solid, with two wins, two draws and one loss from their last five games. Their most recent encounter was a 2-2 draw with Real Betis, where Antony secured a point for the visitors with a 94th minute equaliser.
Their games are generally very easy on the eye, with over 2.5 goals having been scored in four of their last five games, while BTTS has also occurred in four of their last five outings.
Manchester City currently sit 8th in the Champions League group phase table with four points from two games. Pep Guardiola's side opened their account with a 2-0 win over Napoli, which was followed by a 2-2 draw with Monaco in a game they really should've won.
City's form is very good, with the Sky Blues unbeaten in eight games in all competitions, winning four of their last five. At the weekend, City cruised past Everton with a 2-0 win courtesy of an Erling Haaland brace, marking his 13th and 14th goals of the season for City. Over 2.5 goals have also been scored in two of City's last four games.
With Villarreal having conceded 13 goals in 11 games this season, Haaland will be licking his lips at the opportunity for goals in this game. Villarreal are a good team, but there's little to suggest they'll be a great match for a Manchester City side that are bang in form.
