The Bluebirds had drawn all of their last three matches prior to that defeat against the likes of Preston North End (2-2), QPR (0-0) and Sheffield Wednesday (1-1).

Omer Riza’s side’s last victory came away at Blackburn Rovers via a 2-1 scoreline, as Yousef Salech and Yakou Meite scored on either side of Yuki Ohashi’s 16th-minute equaliser.
