Behind the scenes at Rangers, it has not been plain sailing on the managerial front, with the resignation of Phillipe Clement. Club legend Barry Ferguson has been brought back to the club, with rumours of a potential takeover afoot which will bring some much-needed positivity to the Ibrox faithful.

The visitors finished in the final top-eight spot in the UEFA Europa League standings, fending off challenges from Ajax and Anderlecht most notably. In the Scottish Premiership, though, Rangers will have to endure another season of their Glasgow rivals securing another league title, with Rangers 16 points behind Celtic after 29 matches.

Rangers come into this game, having won only twice in their last five matches in all competitions following their disappointing 2-1 home defeat to Motherwell. Rangers have also suffered defeats against St.Mirren (0-2) and most notably an embarrassing 1-0 defeat to Queens Park in the Scottish Cup.

The away side have been impressive away from home though, with Barry Ferguson’s side having recorded three straight victories on their travels against Kilmarnock (2-4), Hearts (1-3) and Dundee United (1-3). In Europe, Rangers lost their last away game against Manchester United (2-1).
