Second-place Arsenal hosts third-place Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium in what is expected to be a closely-fought Premier League clash.

Location: Emirates Stadium

As previously mentioned, Newcastle have won all three head-to-head meetings between these two sides this season, having defeated the Gunners 1-0 in the Premier League back on 2nd November as Alexander Isak fired in the only goal of the game, while in the League Cup, the Magpies earned two 2-0 victories over Arsenal as Isak and Anthony Gordon were on target at the Emirates Stadium, while Jacob Murphy and Gordon scored in the return leg at St. James’ Park.
Arsenal’s season has faded away, as they were recently knocked out of the UEFA Champions League by PSG, meaning that this is yet another trophyless campaign for the Gunners under Mikel Arteta. The Gunners were expected to mount a strong challenge to win the Premier League this season as they finished as runners-up in 2022/23 and 2023/24 behind Manchester City, but, they currently sit 15 points adrift of Liverpool who have already been confirmed as Premier League champions.
On the other hand, this season has been one that Newcastle fans will look back on fondly, having ended their trophy drought with their 2-1 win over Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final. The Magpies have earned 66 points from 36 matches thus far, meaning that they are realistically just one win away from qualifying for Champions League football, as their goal difference is far superior to sixth-place Aston Villa.
