Brentford vs Chelsea Prediction

Brentford versus Chelsea will be an interesting match-up in the Premier League, with this being a meeting of 11th against fourth.

The Bees have a very good record against Chelsea, as they’ve managed to win three and draw two of the last six meetings between the two sides, with the anomaly being the Blues’ 2-1 win back in December.

On top of this, Brentford have the eighth-best home record in the Premier League, as they’ve won seven, drawn three and lost five of their 15 matches at the Gtech Community Stadium, while scoring 21 and conceding 19.

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s away record is less than desirable, as Enzo Maresca’s side have won just six of their 15 matches on the road, while drawing three and losing the other six, seeing them accumulate 21 points from 15 games. This is ninth-best record in the league, something that they will be keen to improve upon between now and the end of the season.

Prediction: Brentford 2-1 Chelsea

Brentford vs Chelsea Prediction & Preview

On Sunday, 6th April, 11th-place Brentford takes on fourth-place Chelsea in what is expected to be a closely-fought contest at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Date: 06/04/2025

Location: Gtech Community Stadium

Time: 2pm

When these two sides last met on 15th December, Chelsea scraped a 2-1 win over the Bees at Stamford Bridge as Marc Cucurella and Nicolas Jackson gave the Blues a 2-0 load, before Bryan Mbeumo pulled back a late goal.

The last meeting at Brentford on 2nd March 2024 resulted in an entertaining 2-2 draw, as goals from Jackson and Axel Disasi earned the Blues a point as they scored on either side of strikes from Mads Roerslev and Yoane Wissa.

Brentford are having another solid campaign under Thomas Frank, as they have more than consolidated their place in the Premier League for another season with 41 points from 30 matches (12 wins, five draws and 13 losses), seeing them sit 21 points clear of the relegation zone, while being seven points behind the likes of seventh-place Aston Villa.

Chelsea are having a positive season, however, their progress will largely depend on whether they qualify for 2025/26’s edition of the Champions League, as they sit fourth in the table with 52 points from 30 matches. Something which emphasises how close the table is, is the fact that eighth-place Brighton are just four points behind Enzo Maresca’s side, meaning that they have very little margin for error.

On top of their league campaign, Chelsea will be desperate to win the Europa Conference League in order to lift some silverware. They will face Legia Warsaw in the quarter-finals of that competition, having advanced past FC Kobenhavn via a 3-1 aggregate scoreline. In the Group Stage of that competition, Chelsea earned 18 points from six games.

Form Guide

Brentford

Brentford suffered a narrow 2-1 loss away at Newcastle United in midweek, as Alexander Isak and Sandro Tonali fired in goals on either side of Bryan Mbeumo’s 66th-minute equaliser.

Prior to that game, the Bees had earned a superb 2-1 win at Bournemouth thanks to goals by Yoane Wissa and Christian Norgaard after Vitaly Janelt had put through his own net in the 17th-minute of the game.

Those results came after a 1-0 home defeat to Aston Villa, a 1-1 home draw with Everton and a thumping 4-0 win at Leicester City where Wissa, Mbeumo, Norgaard and Fabio Carvalho all got on the scoresheet.

Chelsea

Chelsea have won four of their last five matches, however, they have failed to score more than one goal in each of their last four outings.

Last time out, the Blues earned a narrow 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur as Enzo Fernández scored the only goal of the game. That win came after a toothless display away at Arsenal where they were beaten 1-0 via a Mikel Merino header.

In the run-up to those matches, Chelsea had earned a 3-1 aggregate win over FC Kobenhavn in the UEFA Europa Conference League, while also defeating Leicester City 1-0 at Stamford Bridge as Marc Cucurella scored the only goal of the game on the hour mark.
