Brentford vs. Everton - Prediction

This is a tough one to call between two sides in decent form. Ultimately, we think an injury-depleted Everton side will fall to their first defeat in 6 games against a surging Brentford team that have three wins from their last four games. Brentford 2-1 Everton.

Brentford vs. Everton: Prediction, Preview & Betting Tips

Everton's resurgence under David Moyes continues this weekend as they lock horns with Brentford in the Premier League.

  • Date: 26/02/2025
  • Kick-off time: 19:30
  • Location: Brentford Community Stadium, West London

The Bees currently sit 11th in the Premier League with 37 points from 26 games. It's been a solid campaign for Thomas Frank and Brentford, who are chasing a record-high finish in the Premier League. After largely struggling last season, they've found their level once again and will be confident of a top half finish.

Brentford have been electric to watch this season and with 47 goals scored, they're the fifth-highest scorers in the entire league. The flip side to that is they're not great defensively, having conceded 42 goals, but one thing is for certain: they're absolute cinema.

They're going to have a very hard time taking a leap from where they are now. Bryan Mbeumo, who is undoubtedly the team's best player, will be the subject of numerous poaching attempts from bigger clubs this summer. Mbeumo is in the prime of his life and has 15 goals in the league this season, and as a player who plays off the right, he'll have no shortage of takers.

Brentford are only three points behind Brighton in 9th and will have their eyes firmly set on ascending to that level. They're facing a stuff test here against a rejuvenated side, but they'll fancy themselves as they favourites.

Everton are currently 14th in the Premier League with 31 points from 26 games. The Toffees are resurgent under the guidance of David Moyes and are looking to end the season with a bang.

After a poor start to the campaign under Sean Dyche, the two parties went separate ways and club legend David Moyes returned to the fold. Some were sceptical, but Moyes' grand return has so far proved to be outstandingly successful, with the team unbeaten in their last six in the league since the Scot's return.

It's exciting times for Everton, who are now under new ownership and about to move into a new stadium. The fans will hope that a summer full of investment is imminent, so the team can start to compete for European football once again. Toffees fans will feel as though the club has been underperforming for far too long now.

What Everton can achieve this season remains fairly limited, though, with the team out of the FA Cup and 12 points shy of Chelsea in 7th. A run at the European places is beyond them at this stage, so they can only hope that they finish the season in a very positive manner, and wave goodbye to their famous old ground in style.

Where To Watch

This game will be televised live to all subscribed UK viewers on TNT Sports 5.

Team News

Brentford Team News:

The Bees are set to be without Rico Henry, Gustavo Nunes, Igor Thiago, Sepp van den Berg, Josh Dasilva and Mathias Jensen.

After such a commanding performance last time out, they should name the same XI that started in Leicester on Friday night.

Predicted lineup: Flekken; Ajer, Collins, Pinnock, Lewis-Potter; Nørgaard, Janelt; Mbeumo, Damsgaard, Schade; Wissa.

Everton Team News:

Everton's injury list is a big one, with Dwight McNeil, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Séamus Coleman, Orel Mangala, Iliman Ndiaye and Nathan Patterson all out injured.

Without too many available options for rotation, expect the Toffees to be unchanged here too.

Predicted lineup: Pickford; O'Brien, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Garner, Gueye; Lindstrøm, Doucouré, Harrison; Beto.

Brentford vs. Everton - Form Guide

Brentford:

Brentford's form is good, as they enter this game with three wins and two defeats from their last five games. Most recently, goals from Yoane Wissa, Bryan Mbeumo, Christian Nørgaard and Fábio Carvalho produced a commanding 4-0 win away at Leicester, a result that followed a 1-0 win away at West Ham United following Kevin Schade's goal.

Prior to that, Brentford were beaten 0-2 by Tottenham, which came after a 2-1 win away at Crystal Palace - thanks to Mbeumo and Schade - and a 0-2 loss to Liverpool.

Everton:

Everton enter this game with two wins, two draws and one loss from their last five outings. At the weekend, the Toffees surrendered a 2-0 lead at home to Manchester United, with Beto and Abdoulaye Doucouré scoring the goals, to draw 2-2, which was preceded by a 2-1 win away at Crystal Palace thanks to Beto and Carlos Alcaraz.

Before that, a Beto goal and a dramatic last-minute equaliser from James Tarkowski saw Everton draw 2-2 with Liverpool, a result that was preceded by a 0-2 loss to AFC Bournemouth in the FA Cup and a 4-0 win over Leicester City, with Doucouré, Beto (X2) and Iliman Ndiaye scoring the goals.
