Chelsea vs Brighton & Hove Albion Prediction

Chelsea are looking to respond to a couple of disappointing results as they face off against Brighton in the Premier League this weekend.

  • Date: 27/09/2025
  • Kick-off: 3:00pm
  • Location: Stamford Bridge, West London

Chelsea are 6th in the Premier League table with eight points from five games. The Blues have shown both encouraging and concerning moments in the opening weeks of the season, and they enter this game winless in their last three outings, with defeats to Bayern Munich and Man United and a draw with Brentford.

Brighton have got five points from five games in the opening weeks of their season. The Seagulls have shown promising signs but have had a fairly tough start to the campaign in terms of fixture difficulty. Their most recent game was a 2-2 draw against Tottenham, while they also claimed a 2-1 win over Manchester City.

Brighton have won two of the last three head-to-head meetings with Chelsea so they'll be confident about their chances here. Both over 2.5 goals and both teams to score have occurred in all of their last three games, while all of both teams' last three games have seen BTTS occur and over 2.5 goals scored.

Chelsea fans will be somewhat concerned by their start to the season. After winning the Club World Cup, the team has not quite kicked on as some expected they would, and there are still major question marks surrounding the team's squad building.

The Blues are also dealing with the fitness issues of Cole Palmer, who has a chronic groin injury. If Palmer were to need significant time on the sidelines, Chelsea's season would be under huge threat, so they need to be careful in their management of the England man.

A win here would be well-timed for the Blues and would provide a much-needed injection of morale, but they may need to do it without the services of their star man.

Brighton look on course to have a solid yet unspectacular season. The Seagulls signed a number of promising yet unproven players in the summer transfer window, so they were never really in a position to kick on majorly following last season.

They are, though, still a quality team, and they've been very competitive in every game they've played this season. Given how competitive they were against Chelsea last season, they'll be quitely confident of three points at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea 2-2 Brighton
