Crystal Palace vs Liverpool Prediction

Liverpool's title charge resumes this weekend as they lock horns with Crystal Palace in London. Crystal Palace are currently on nine points from five games, representing a very strong start to the season. They're yet to lose a game in the Premier League, winning two and drawing three of their five matches.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have won all five of their games and sit top of the league table on 15 points. The Reds, though, often struggle against Crystal Palace, winning only two of the last seven head-to-head meetings in all competitions between the two teams. Four of those have ended in draws, highlighting a common theme in recent matchups.

Three of the last five meetings between the two teams have seen over 2.5 goals scored, while five of Liverpool's seven games in all competitions this season have seen BTTS occur. The most recent clash between the teams was a 2-2 draw in the Community Shield, and we think another draw is set to play out here.

Crystal Palace vs Liverpool Preview & Prediction

Crystal Palace have enjoyed a strong start to the campaign. Despite a tough summer in the transfer window, Palace have dealt with the loss of Eberechi Eze excellently and still look like one of the league's stronger teams. New signing Yeremi Pino has shown flashes of quality despite not fully settling in yet, so there is hope that he'll really start to make his mark in the coming weeks.

  • Date: 27/09/2025
  • Kick-off: 3:00pm
  • Location: Selhurst Park, South London

There is a bit of needle surrounding this game given the late summer saga involving Marc Guehi. Set for a move to Liverpool, Palace pulled the plug on Guehi's transfer at the last second, owing to a lack of attainable replacements. Guehi was reportedly upset at the outcome, and he'll likely want to remind Liverpool why they came in for him in the first place.

Liverpool find themselves five points clear at the top of the league table. Things have gone perfectly to plan for Liverpool so far, but despite the quality of their results, there are some reasons for caution. Liverpool have needed late goals to win games in five of their games this season, and while that doesn't necessarily signal doom, it's possible that it's a sign of the team not properly fulfilling its function.

It's the sort of thing that could go either way, and if Liverpool have another gear to go to, they may well end up running away with the league. That's very much to be confirmed as of now, but the fact that Liverpool have sacrificed two-goal leads on three occasions this season is another reason that Arne Slot will not be getting carried away with his team's showings just yet.

A convincing win away at Crystal Palace will do a lot to assuage doubts, but it won't come easily.
