Pierre Sage's side have recorded wins in cup competitions, beating Middlesbrough (3-0) and Lech Poznan (4-0). The win over Lech Poznan came in the Conference League, which preceded Palace's draw away at Leeds. That pair or results came amidst two improved performances, giving the impression that the team may be slowly starting to improve.
Nottingham Forest come into this game 13th in the Premier League with five points from five games. Like Palace, it's been a tough start to the campaign for the Tricky Trees.
Forest manager Oliver Glasner is returning to his old club after enjoying unprecedented success at Selhurst Park, which will add extra edge to this contest given Palace fans feel as though the Austrian made a sideways career move.
Forest have only one win in all competitions this season, a 2-1 win away at Aston Villa, and are coming off the back of a 0-1 defeat to Coventry, a poor result all things considered.
These two sides tend to be extremely difficult to separate, with four of the last five head-to-head meetings ending in a 1-1 draw - with the other tie ending in a 1-0 win for Forest.
We do, then, see no reason to believe that trend will be deviated from, as we expect a low scoring a draw in South London.
