Fulham face a visit from Hull City at the weekend, with increasing pressure on Alvaro Arbeloa in the Fulham dugout. This game could be seen as a six-pointer for both sides, but Fulham will be seeking a win more than ever in this fixture.
The Cottagers have started the season terribly with no wins in their opening six matches in the Premier League, which has mounted speculation on Alvaro Arbeloa heading into Fulham's next two fixtures, Hull City at the weekend and then Coventry City. Fulham's woes were amplified last weekend when they squandered a goal lead in the dying moments of the game with goals from Abdoul Ouattara and Dara O'Shea snatching the victory away from Arbeloa's side.
The hosts for this game have lost three of their last five home league matches and in two of their previous three games, Fulham have conceded two goals or more. The only point they have picked up at home this campaign was against a dejected Manchester United side and even then they let slip another goal lead, thanks to suckerpunch from Matheus Cunha.
Hull City have fared much better than Fulham in the Premier League. Despite being winless in their previous three league games, the Tigers have managed to pick up nine points from six matches with notable results against Manchester United and Chelsea in particular. Recent meetings suggest that this fixture will be close in terms of the scoreline, as less than 2.5 goals have been scored in four of the last five matches between the two clubs.
Mohamed Belloumi is having a fine season for the Tigers with five goal contributions in five league starts this season and the Algerian international has scored three goals in his last three games for club and country.
This game could be seen as a final nail in the coffin for Alvaro Arbeloa but with both sides on a winless run as of late, honours even could be the play at Craven Cottage.
Fulham 1-1 Hull City
