Leeds United take on Bournemouth in the Premier League this weekend in what should be an interesting game.
- Date: 27/09/2025
- Kick-off: 3:00pm
- Location: Elland Road, Leeds
Leeds have started the season well and sit 12th in the league table with seven points from five games. Three of their last five games have seen under 2.5 goals scored, and while they've somewhat struggled going forward at times, they've looked very strong defensively.
Bournemouth have also started the season strongly, claiming ten points from five games. The Cherries have also been involved in their fair share of low-scoring encounters so far, with three of their last four outings seeing under 2.5 goals scored.
It's been over 12 months since Leeds lost a league game at Elland Road so they'll back themselves to avoid defeat here, while Bournemouth have drawn three of their last six league games on the road and are prone to a share of the spoils. We do, then, fancy this game to end all squared in a low-scoring encounter.
Leeds are coming off the back of an impressive 3-1 win away at Wolves. Despite falling a goal behind, goals from Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Anton Stach and Noah Okafor completed a fine comeback and sealed a very useful three points.
Leeds had been struggling to create chances from open play before this game and while that's still likely to be an issue going forward, the quality of the goals was very encouraging.
Bournemouth's most recent game was a 0-0 draw with Newcastle. In what was a competitive game, a point was a fair result and it maintains the Cherries' strong start to the campaign.
Bournemouth are still getting to grips with aspects of their new team after a lot of turnover in the summer, so it's impressive for them to have started as strongly as they have. There's a feeling that in a month or two, they could really be pulling up trees and their aim will no doubt be to seal European football.
