The Black Cats have performed above and beyond in the Premier League this season, as they take on the Arsenal side, who are leading the way in the Premier League table.
Sunderland have an excellent home record this season, with three wins and two draws from five games at the Stadium of Light. Sunderland dropped points at home to Everton last time out; however, Regis Le Bris's side has obtained a very respectable 18 points from a possible 30 available this season. The home side have managed to score in all but two of their league fixtures this season. Considering their opponents and league standing, their run of consecutive scoring may come to an end here.
Arsenal are in stunning form, having rested players against Slavia Praha in midweek, the Gunners secured a 3-0 win to make it 10 straight victories in all competitions. Even more impressively, Mikel Arteta's side have kept eight consecutive clean sheets in all competitions, and they are on track to potentially break Chelsea's all-time defensive record of 15 conceded in the Premier League.
This is likely to be a low-scoring contest, as fewer than 2.5 goals have been scored in six of the last seven games involving Sunderland and in six of the last eight games involving Arsenal.
We predict the Gunners will secure a 2-0 win at the Stadium of Light.
Sunderland 0-2 Arsenal
