Juventus vs Atalanta Prediction

Juventus versus Atalanta is an incredibly tough game to call, as Juventus are yet to lose a home game in Serie A with seven wins and seven draws from 14 matches, while Atalanta have the best away record of any side in the division as they’ve accumulated 30 points from 14 games away from the Gewiss Stadium.

Interestingly, Juventus have been somewhat of a bogey side in recent meetings for Atalanta, as they’re unbeaten in their last five matches, having won two and drawn three of the last five matches against La Dea.

The last meeting between these two sides resulted in a 1-1 draw back in mid-January, a scoreline that we can see being replicated here.

Prediction: Juventus 1-1 Atalanta

Juventus vs Atalanta Prediction & Preview

On Sunday night, fourth-place Juventus hosts third-place Atalanta in what should be an intriguing Serie A contest at Allianz Stadium.

Date: 09/03/2025

Location: Allianz Stadium

Time: 7:45pm

As previously mentioned, the last meeting between these two sides resulted in a 1-1 draw in Bergamo, as Mateo Retegui fired in a 78th-minute equaliser after Pierre Kalulu had given Juve the lead early on in the second half.

Juventus are having a solid season under Thiago Motta, as they are just six points behind top of the table Inter Milan on 52 points from 27 matches, the only slight criticism of the Old Lady is that they have drawn 13 matches, as many as they have won in Serie A, however, they have only suffered one defeat across the whole league campaign.

Their Coppa Italia performance was below par, as they suffered a shock defeat to Empoli on penalties in the quarter-final after a 1-1 draw. In the previous round, they had eased past Cagliari 4-0.

In the UEFA Champions League, Juventus finished 20th in the Group Stage, accumulating 12 points from eight matches, having beaten PSV (3-1), RB Leipzig (3-2) and Manchester City (2-0), while drawing with Lille (1-1), Aston Villa (0-0) and Club Brugge (0-0) and losing to Stuttgart (1-0) and Benfica (2-0).

Motta’s side were knocked out of Europe’s premier competition in the Round of 32 as they suffered a shock 4-3 aggregate defeat to PSV.

On the other hand, Atalanta are just three points off top of the table Inter Milan with 11 games to go, seeing them in with a possibility of a shock title charge.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s side will be solely focussing on Serie A this campaign, as they suffered a disappointing exit to Bologna (1-0) in the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia after thrashing 6-1 in the Round of 16.

As far as the Champions League goes, they finished ninth in the Group Stage, just one point short of eighth-place Aston Villa with 15 points from eight matches. This saw them face off against Club Brugge in the Round of 32, which produced a major shock, as the Belgian Pro League side emerged victorious via a 5-2 aggregate scoreline.

Form Guide

Juventus

In their last five matches, Juventus have won three and lost twice.

Thiago Motta’s side’s defeats both came in cup competitions, as they suffered a 3-1 away loss at PSV, while being beaten by Empoli on penalties in the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia after a 1-1 draw.

Juventus’ results have been ticking over nicely in Serie A, as they earned a crucial home win over Inter Milan as Conceicao fired in the only goal of the game, before also beating Cagliari (1-0) and Hellas Verona (2-0).

Atalanta

Atalanta missed a golden opportunity to catch up points on top of the table Inter Milan last time out as they were held to a disappointing 0-0 draw with Venezia.

Prior to that game, they had thrashed Empoli 5-0 thanks to goals from Emmanuel Gyasi (own goal), Retegui, Ademola Lookman (2) and Davide Zappacosta. At the start of this sequence of results, they had suffered two defeats to Club Brugge (2-1 & 3-1) on either side of a 0-0 stalemate at home with Cagliari.
