The standings in Group G are finely poised as we head into the second matchday, as Belgium take on Iran on Sunday 21st June.
Belgium were held by Egypt in their opening game, meanwhile Iran were embroiled in a goal-fest against New Zealand with both of the respective sides scoring twice. The Red Devils are still in an excellent position to finish top of the group, as Rudi Garcia's side are unbeaten in their last 14 international fixtures and one would think the performance against Egypt, would certainly show signs of improvement against Iran.
One player who is bound to make the difference in this fixture is Romelu Lukaku. The former Chelsea and Manchester United forward was a second-half substitute in Belgium's 1-1 draw against Egypt, and was on hand to force a mistake from Mohamed Hany who subsequently scored in his own net.
Iran are unbeaten in their previous four, but one would suspect they are likely to concede goals against a better quality Belgium side, considering they conceded twice to New Zealand.
Belgium 2-0 Iran
