The Champions League is the biggest and best tournament in world football, with only the elite able to compete in it. 32 teams begin the competition in the group stage with several clubs going through an extensive qualification process just to reach that stage. Last seasons tournament was one of the most memorable that we've ever seen since it's re-branding back in 1992, with Real Madrid end it as Champions for the third successive year, lifting it for a record 13th time. They beat Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool 3-1 in the final in Kiev back in May and it's going to be interesting to see if they can make it 4 in a row this time around, especially with the news of Cristiano Ronaldo departing for Juventus.
Last year we saw tonnes of goals, drama and entertainment, something that we're expecting again this year! The draw for the 18/19 group stage of the Champions League takes place on Thursday, with clubs all over the continent eagerly anticipating their fate. Returning to the competition after lengthy breaks from it are giants Valencia (Spain) and Inter Milan (Italy) in pot 3 and pot 4 respectively - so they'll be sides that many will be looking out for and wanting to avoid!
