The group stage of the Europa League is just about to get underway and it looks like this year could be another one to remember. Last year we saw some fantastic games which led to Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid lifting the trophy in Lyon. They defeated Marseille 3-0 in one of the more one sided finals that we've seen in recent years and they were definitely deserving champions. The winners of the Europa League gain automatic entry into the Champions League so Atletico won't be involved in the group stage at least this time around, but there's still an awful lot of quality on display.
There's some big names involved in the competition which includes 4 clubs from the UK - with Chelsea, Arsenal, Celtic and Rangers all involved in the group stage. Chelsea and Arsenal in particular are expected to go deep in the tournament and it's something that the latter did last term - making the semi-finals where they were beaten by eventual winners Atletico.
