After waiting months for the Premier League to get back up and running, it's now on hold for a fortnight with international football once again taking the spot light. It's been a big year for it with the World Cup in Russia taking place this summer - a tournament that has gone down in history as one of the best ever. There were plenty of success stories to come from it but one of the biggest was the progress made by England, who went into it with virtually no expectations. The Three Lions managed to make it all the way through to the semi-finals were they agonisingly beaten in extra time by Croatia, but they've returned back home as heroes.
On Saturday night they take on Spain at Wembley Stadium in what is their first game since their exploits over in Eastern Europe and it's going to be interesting to see how they fare. Their performances have restored pride back amongst the England supporters and the national team seems a very happy one at the moment - something we haven't seen for some time. It's a young and in-experienced side, with Jordan Henderson the man with the most caps with 44 to his name, but they've proven that they're capable of delivering on the big stage.
