There are plenty of huge fixtures on the English domestic calendar but not many come bigger than that of Chelsea v Manchester United. These two sides my not be close geographically but there's a big rivalry that's formed between the two clubs for a number of reasons. Chelsea's takeover by Roman Abramovich back in 2003 changed the face of English football, with the financial power making them instant title contenders. Led by now Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho, the Blues have since gone one to win every available honour in domestic and European football to make them one of the heavyweights of the game.
Chelsea's emergence had big implications on the success of Manchester United, who had a genuine challenger in the Premier League which was fantastic for the neutral. The Red Devils aren't the dominant force that they once were but this is still a huge clash, with plenty of plot lines going into it. The main one is the return of Jose Mourinho to Stamford Bridge - the 55 year-old enjoyed some magnificent success during his time in West London but he now finds himself under some serious pressure following a below par start to the campaign with United. They've won just 1 of their last 5 games in all competitions which makes them under dogs for this one, but it's a tag they'll relish.
Chelsea on the other hand are flying at the moment under Maurizio Sarri, with them joint top of the Premier League with Manchester City and Liverpool on 20 points after 8 games.
