FA Cup Top Scorers Since 2000/01

Can you name the FA Cup top scorers by season since 2000/01?

The FA Cup returns this weekend. Four Premier League teams are left in the competition with Manchester United playing Tottenham on Saturday and Chelsea playing Southampton to see who gets to fight it out in the final. The FA Cup provides the stage for lower league teams and players to make a name for themselves. Last season Lincoln City were the competitions shock team, making it all the way to the quarter finals whilst playing non-league football. This year we have seen Wigan knockout three Premier League sides on their great run in the competition, including Premier League Champions Manchester City. A few good games for a player in the FA Cup can give them enough exposure to move onto a bigger club.

This season’s lower league big performer was Will Grigg. Will Grigg is the FA Cup’s current top goal scorer with seven, one of which came in their 1-0 over Manchester City. Out of the remaining teams still left in the competition Romelu Lukaku (5 goals) and Harry Kane (4 goals) are the closes players to Grigg, who currently looks set to win the top scorers title.

We want to see if you can name the FA Cup top scorers by season since 2000/01. It sounds easy, but with 29 answers to guess it’s a lot more difficult than you might think! We’ve given you a pretty generous 8 minutes to name as many as possible; once you’ve given it your best shot tweet us @FootyAccums and we’ll RT the best – good luck!
