2018 was a massive year for football and it produced some unforgettable moments. In England we saw Manchester City write history by becoming the first side in Premier League history to win the title and accumulate 100 points, along with setting records for the most wins, biggest winning margin and much more. But in 2019 their title looks under serious threat from Liverpool, who've also enjoyed a fantastic year of progress. The Reds have registered 88 points from their 37 PL games in the calendar year (joint highest with City) and they end 2018 at the top of the league - this is along with their appearance in the Champions League Final so all in all a very good year for the Reds.
Away from club football we also saw one of the best World Cups campaigns ever over in Russia, filled with upsets, drama, entertainment and ALMOST an England appearance in the final. The Three Lions were cruelly dumped out in the semis by Croatia but they produced some magnificent performances - with their penalty shootout win over Colombia a moment that will go down in history. France were the eventual winners and despite England not going all the way, it was still one of the best summers ever.
