The Europa League may play second fiddle to the UEFA Champions League but it's a competition that's produced plenty of drama and memorable moments over the years. In recent years we've seen Chelsea and Manchester United go all the way and lift the trophy, along with Liverpool and even Middlesbrough making the final. Another English club who enjoyed some success in it were Roy Hodgson's Fulham who in the 2009/10 season surprised just about everyone with their stunning run to the final - where they were eventually beaten by a star-studded Atletico Madrid side which included the likes of Simao, Diego Forlan and Sergio Aguero.
On their way to the final they beat Hamburg, Wolfsburg, Shakhtar Donetsk and the mighty Juventus - all three were games which they were given little to no chance of winning. The most famous of which was their win over the Italians, who have a rich history both domestically and continentally. After losing the first leg 3-1 in Turn they had a huge mountain to climb to go through, but they somehow managed to pull it off. A 4-1 win in West London ensured that they went through 5-4 on aggregate and wrote history. It was a magnificent night for the club and English football as a whole, one that is remembered fondly by the clubs supporters.
Well now 8 years it's a fixture that is being talked about again. Juventus are back as a European super-power and on Tuesday night they recorded a win over Manchester United at Old Trafford which extended their unbeaten run over English sides to 9 games. Who was the last team to beat them? Fulham of course.
