Playing for England is one of the greatest honours you can receive as a footballer and last night Callum Wilson was a lucky, but deserving recipient. The Bournemouth forward has had a rough route to the top after working his way up through both the non-league and Football League ladder, but on Thursday night he realised a dream. He made his first start for England against the United States in front of a healthy crowd at Wembley Stadium and he made it a night that he'll remember forever.
He put in a solid performance which was rounded off by him scoring England's third and final goal of the evening on 77 minutes. It was a fantastic moment for the 25 year-old who's battled through a lot to work his way to the top, twice recovering from two absolutely horrific ACL injuries which with many players can end their careers. Making your debut is incredible enough but to score on it is fantastic, so it's something he'll be over the moon with.
