When you think of Chelsea and European competition the Champions League instantly comes to mind. The Blues have been involved in the continents elite competition almost every season since Roman Abramovich started pumping his seemingly endless amount of money into the club, with them winning it for the first time in their history back in 2012. But Thursday night sees them begin the campaign in the Europa League for the first time since the 2002/03 season after a difficult campaign last term which saw them finish fifth. Maurizio Sarri's men are one of the favourites to go all the way and looking at their squad on paper you'd expect them to progress very deep.
The Blues have made a terrific start to the campaign under their new boss and they're currently at the top of the Premier League after winning 5 games from 5. The Italian replaced Antonio Conte in the summer, arriving with a big reputation and his ideas are clearly getting across to the players already with them playing some lovely stuff - so they'll be expected to come out on top in their Europa League opener against PAOK.
