The Champions League is the most sought after trophy in world football and when it comes to English clubs, there are none that have won it on more occasions than Liverpool. The Reds have bragging rights over all their rivals after winning it five times – a feat only bettered around Europe by Real Madrid (12) and AC Milan (7). Four of their titles came in a hugely successful eight year period during the 70s-80s, with just one coming since back in 2005. Liverpool may not be the dominant force in Europe and England that they once were but they’re definitely on their way back to the top under Jurgen Klopp, as this season has proved.
Everyone knows how capable Liverpool are on their and how they can beat anyone, but this year they’ve added consistency to their game which has seen them surprise a lot of people to reach the semi-finals. There they take on Roma which represents an excellent opportunity for them to make it to the final in Kiev next month.
They take on the Italians at Anfield in the first leg in what is a huge game on Tuesday and it’s absolutely imperative that they get a positive result in order to give themselves a chance at the Stadio Olimpico – which really isn’t an easy place to go.With their first leg quickly approaching we’ve put together a quiz based on Liverpool’s recent Champions League adventures.
